Wow, I didn't know that this documentary existed. Glad I found it and that Pharrell had Verbal as a friend in Japan to explain to him our situation, and appreciate very much how Pharrell has been so respectful to Japan.

You're kidding me... I've always been one to regard my love for hip-hop and anime and basically Japanese culture in general to be seperate loves, in no way connected. Seeing my main inspiration here Pharrell, agreeing with me on that awe for Japanese culture... I'm almost in tears... fucking love life right now yo. I always thought I was different for being so into Japanese culture and shiet, but Pharrell eased that up for me. Embrace yourself. be yourself.
I watch this at least once a year for the last twelve years. The guys who created this deserves a big pat on the back.
Pharrell is definitely an inspiring artist. Its true what he says about war and tragedies bringing people together and making people want to be more poetic and want change and just overall makes people more spiritual. I love this guys spirit, its so youthful (as is his appearance), and also its so passionate and caring.

I agree. I believe the biggest secret to not aging like everyone else, other than genetics, is to do what you love and do it honestly. He has been doing what he loves to do forever. When bright colors and fitted clothes were not popular in hip hop, he expressed himself honestly and wore it. He makes the music that makes him happy. That's true success.

@mylmoya a lot of artist in hip hop go over to japan and is all into that scene. T.I., B.o.B, Ne-Yo, Pharrell, Lupe just to name a few. Hell even J. Cole surprised me when he sample Kingdom Hearts for his album. Hip Hop is music; music coincides with any culture. I guess when you understand that concept, you become an even greater artist than when you first started out

not to discredit his fluency but he went to international school in Japan and attended Boston College in the US. Even with that, you're right his Japanese and English are both flawless.

That's the cool thing about japan, the japanese weren't chaotic when the tsunami hit. there was no looting or riots because they were so united in the time of distress! The japanese are amazing!
