It’s pure magic, what was once impossible, now becomes possible😁
This video is so fucking helpful
Thanks for watching, Tobias 👌
Amazing video!
Thank you!!
Thanks for watching 👌
@@SamLoose A suggestion, I'd love to see your approach to editing remote podcasts.
Especially when one of the guests/speakers doesn't have a good setup and is probably using a pair of bluetooth headphones.
Do you have some audio you could send for me to use for that specific scenario? I’ll happily take a look at making a video if it will be of use.
@@SamLoose absolutely!
I might need to take permission in case you want to upload the video.
How can I send them over?
Cool. You can find my contact details in the about section of my channel.
Thank you. Great job.
Thanks for watching!
thank for your helpful vedio! I learn a lot!
Thanks for watching! 👌
Happy about the parrot, as I have to get rid of a noisy kookaburra. Thanks
It also does a number on dog barks 😉
Good job. Well covered. Confined fix vs overall fix. You need the learned skills to detirmine it just as our friend here did.
Thanks for watching 😀
Thought you was Brad pitt in the thumbnail
that damn parrot 🤪
More RX 9 Vids please
More on the way 🙂
I have been using RX for the last 5 years and nothing comes close to it. I do lots of surgical work, some in removing voices, laughs from secret recordings in animal testing labs used for investigations. I started back when it was RX4!
Hey Miguel, thanks for watching! Wow, RX4! It was great even then, but it’s come on a lot. It’s such a fantastic tool, I don’t know how I’d live without it.
I know this video is older, but I'm considering purchasing Izotope 10 which looks great for my podcast purposes. With a single license, can I use it in Audition (which I'm already paying for) and Logic Pro (which I'm currently in trial mode)? I'm thinking I'll make the switch to Logic, but I don't want to waste a license on a DAW I might not use. Thank you!! New to your channel, really appreciate what you do.
Yes you can. You install it once and can use the plugins in any DAW on that machine, as well as the standalone version. Glad you’re enjoying the content! Let me know if there’s anything I can help with 👍
07:30 Not digging-in for (routine low-value) long-form: Do you mean applying over whole stretch (of same speaker's voice, if consistent level) or do you mean still applying individually, per-plosive?
Great video, thanks! Do you think dialogue isolate would get rid of the sound of an electronic pen writing on an electronic board? We've got a teacher who uses an electronic board and as they are writing, it makes a tapping noise that is rather fatiguing to listen to. Thanks for your CZcams channel.
Thanks for watching. Yes, I think it would do the job for you. If the pen clicks aren’t too often, if there are perhaps
@@SamLoose Thanks for the suggestions, very helpful.
Follow up question, which part of the workflow process do you recommend that "dialogue isolate" be applied? Thanks. I'm new at audio editing.
I think that depends on the piece of audio. I would give it a try at either end of the process and see which works for you. Typically, I will go for mouth declick, deplosive, and any modules of that kind first as broad strokes to clean the dialog, then dig in a bit deeper. But dialog isolate can be a great first pass module if the background isn’t too obtrusive.
In general, it’s better to do a few light passes of a module than it is one aggressive one. That’s always been my experience. Please do let me know how you get on with your cleanup 👍
@@SamLoose Thank you for your help! This is very helpful information, I'm new at audio editing so this is great.
Are you using RX9 Standard or the Advanced? Quite a price difference between the two. Looking to purchase it soon....
Thanks for the video!
Hey Forrest 🙂 I’m actually on Advanced, but there is an amazing amount you can do with Standard! Thanks for checking the video out. Is there anything else in RX you’d like to see a video on?
Great video and super helpful. Do you know what exactly comes with RX Standard Vs Advanced? Can't seem to find the specs. Thanks!
Thanks for watching, there’s a pretty comprehensive comparison on the iZotope website 👍
I used RX9 to clean up plosives but found it unsatisfactory.
1.Wish they made de-cough and de-sneeze modules.
2. Use some AI magic to isolate one person's voice profile and eliminate all instances of that person in the whole recording.
That would be pretty impressive! You can always dig into the audio a bit more to remove things like coughs and sneezes.
@@SamLoose Tell them to implement at least 1. since you have a relationship with them.
I’ll certainly make the suggestion 👍
Would remove so much pain (and time) e.g. for off-camera audience members in a live event where you want some ambience - but not irritating ones! However, sometimes coughs can be gems... czcams.com/video/HIGtLRnGCD4/video.html
I think that’s heading in the right direction 🙂 Where you could allow to plugin to learn the sound of something like a cough or a sneeze, then remove it from the subsequent audio.
How would you deal with plosives and other mouth noises in Logic Pro? I currently do it manually, using automation and lowering the volume in these areas, but there must be a more automated way? Just got started with podcasting and it seems like bit of an overkill to purchase iZotope RX already :D
I was in an Uber yesterday when this comment popped up and it really got me thinking. I think the easiest way would be to create some sort of processing chain within “selection based processing” that solves the issue, then select the offending region with the marquee tool and use the shortcut for “apply selection based processing”. That makes it far quicker without having to purchase RX. Does that help?
Thanks a lot Sam! I think it helps, I'll have a play with it 👌
Have you tried round tripping from logic to rx back to logic ?
Absolutely. In fact I have a video on just that coming out this week. Keep an eye on the channel 🙂
