- Il pizzo Campo Tencia (3071 m.) è la seconda montagna più alta del Ticino, interamente in Ticino, battuta solo dalla "Cima di Aquila, 3128 m.". Nella variante più praticata si sale da Dalpe, e poi passando per la capanna Campo Tencia, questa variante impiega ca.5/6 ore.
Un' altra variante è quella di salire da Cevio, ca. 3/4 ore.
Un' altra variante ancora è quella di salire da Rodi fino al lago Tremorgio in teleferica e poi proseguire, passando per la capanna Leit ca.7 ore dal lago e 6 ore dalla capanna Leit.
Per chi non volesse andare in vetta, ecco i tempi di percorrenza:
Dalpe - Capanna Campo Tencia ca. 2/2:30 ore
Fusio - Capanna Campo Tencia ca. 6 ore
Lago Tremorgio - Capanna Campo Tencia ca. 3:30 ore
Capanna Leit - Capanna Campo Tencia ca. 2:30 ore
Durante i mesi estivi non servono ne picozza ne ramponi, ma si consiglia per i meno esperti un' imbragatura e un cordino da 10/15 metri.

I went up four or five times to the top, I don't remember exactly, it was a long time ago, I was young at the time, I don't know if I would be able to go up there today... The first time I was maybe seventeen years old, I remember that the lake under the summit didn't exist, the front of the glacier, very steep, was reaching there. Further up you had to walk on the ice for more than a hundred meters on a slope that went up to the final ridge, how things have changed....
Hey, thanks for sharing your story, unfortunately the glacier situation is critical: Pizzo Campo Tencia is doable without even walking on snow now. It's very sad, even the Adula (Rheinwaldhorn) glacier is retreating more and more every year. Hoping for a cold and snowy winter, all the best!

@@solongagosoclear9191 yes and no: yes, a little stripe of ice was still there at the end of August but you can’t call it glacier 😔
