It is strange they left this so late, & did so little with that port next to the minijack input, but there's no reason the same tech couldn't be adapted for the PS5 controller. I have a memory of seeing the same (at least visually) type of expansion port on the PS5 controller, though now I can't recall where.
It is indeed, great accessory, terrible timing for PS4 owners
@@FrugalGaming Yea, but if the PS5 is only coming with a single controller & still supports the DS4 then I suppose it makes monetary sense for Sony. There will still be a market for this even after the PS5 launches.

Are the paddles easily clicked like the x button or is it more hard like pressing on the thumbstick?
The paddles are very easily clicked, more like pressing the x buttons, maybe a little firmer. Definitely not as stiff as the Thumbstick press
I received mine the other day and I definitely think it's worth having.
I have some notes about it from my experience. Pressing the buttons with my middle fingers is basically effortless. Pressing the buttons with my ring fingers, middle fingers on triggers, takes some effort but I can definitely exercise that motion and get more comfortable over time (this is the way that I use this attachment).
Lastly, for the sake of testing, I tried pressing the buttons with my pinkies; ring fingers on triggers. I can do it with my right hand but it's difficult and uncomfortable for my left hand. Maybe I could get more comfortable using my pinkies but I do not use a claw grip. If you can bend your pinky without bending your ring finger you should be able to press the button with your pinky. Be careful if you try it though. I don't know if doing so can cause a hand injury.

Great review! I wonder if Sony is going to open back up to expansion port type stuff on the PS5 dualsense. It would be pretty cool to see the ideas they and third parties come up with. Alas we can only hope.

Are you not able to map a completely new button input with this? (More buttons) Like having an L4 and R4?
From what I've seen, it looks like it doesn't have that functionality. That's something that I wanted too but you have to consider that those aren't inputs that the PS4 was programmed to detect (as far as I know).

Gamestop has them for $30 in US i ordered them and kontrol freeks with it they got anything with orders above $35 for free shipping (shipping is only $5 but you cant beat "$10 kontrol freeks") just waiting until sept 4th to recieve it 🥴 i never used anything that modified my controller in anyway ive been playing with OM controllers since day one.

@@glocq- honestly not as comfortable as i thought, i wouldnt recommend it if your playing competitivly, or in a First Person Shooter, maybe in a game like god of war and stuff like that, itd be good, or mortal kombat, but the buttons are super big and very easy to accidentally press. I only used it for 20 mins before i realized i cant use it . I think the small buttons that get added on would be alot better.

They should be ok as they are easily accessible due to the fuck the buttons are quite chunky

I recommend just gamestop they are $30 from there as crazy as it sounds .
I got the back button attatchment and kontrol freeks because its $35 for free shipping so i technically got the kontrol freeks for 10-11 lol . Total was 45-47 cause tax . Which is the cost of one of these on ebay / amazon (from what i was finding or even more) 😊 hope this helps. Best buy and what not also has it for $30 .

@@EKTapstar yea they also cost so much there 🤐 at that point your better off getting a scuf/modded controller if its not more of an outrageous price there though. Idk how much it is there but theres something with moddedzons they have a controller that you download an app to your phone you connect the controller and you customize the mods how you want and the timing and reactions and what not. I dont have one personally i just seen it and they are brand new... its $110 in the US. They ship to UK idk the price or if they charge for shipping to the UK . But you can add jump shot and rapid fire or crouch/prone and rapid fire (rapid fire if needed and theres more options im just giving Example) the app is called MZtitanOS.
I havent got one personally yet but im thinking about it as soon as i get the money . It seems dope and simple instead of so many extra button sequence on the regular modded controllers. I never even used a modded controller yet either. I just really went based on reviews and everyone has problems with them, and ive never been able to also have the option to customize it. But this allows you to. So im thinking about it for sure with the price. And since i do got the back button attachment im sure itd work on the modded controller when i get 😳 . Also thinking about a cronus zen in the near future.

That controller is on my list buddy! Nacon were sending me some stuff out to review, but the lockdown has delayed that for a bit. Hopefully the controller is included, if not I will buy it myself to review

They are starting to get restocked. Check your stores inventory online. Found one yesterday but had to ask for them to go in the back to get it for me.
