  • Today I review the OneWind Hammock sock. A great budget sock that is lightweight at 9.6 oz, wind blocker, and extra insulator. Also we'll go over how to use a hiking pole as a spreader to create a space inside the sock. a good addition to your winter backpacking gear list!

Hi. Good ideas there. One question, does the trekking pole not turn in the night when you're moving and end up swinging lengthways in your hammock?

Whats the thing with sock? Is it meant to replace tarp or give just a extra protection for whole setup?

It's mainly a wind blocker. Gives you a bit of extra warmth and keeps the wind from hitting the underquilt and taking heat away

I just used a medium stuff sack (around 10L) and sewed a patch at the end for the suspension line
