labour laws are the only reason most people earn livable wages and decent working hours in the first place. business will survive, of course it will. it adapts, that's what it does. when it has a government not enforcing and maintaining employees rights, they'll exploit it, that's what it does.

They said the same thing when the Blair Government introduced the minimum wage, statutory paid leave and maternity leave in the late 90s. None of it came true. We have a serious labour shortage in the country coupled with a productivity crisis , so even if it did come true, removing clearly unproductive jobs and business would probably have a positive impact on both statistics.

also, labour relies on experts and can easily get the necessary consultation from those who have experience/knowledge. tories have made a point to say that they don't like experts or people with experience, they prefer to look at it from their own bias/perspective and base their decisions on what they think will get them votes, so they can continue to serve their own self-interest.

Rayner is relying on vague promises of reform and a magic growth tree - offering more of the same short term political decision making. The overall stance is indistinguishable from the Tories and her caution also makes it harder to sell a hopeful vision of change. . The case for Corbynism has never been stronger. His arguments for nationalisation, fairer taxation, fair pay and political reform would be well-received in the current climate. Along with his support for Palestine. All the issues currently facing the UK could have been avoided, or the impacts lessened, with a Labour government in 2017. But sabotage within his own party's headquarters, the Israel lobby and the owners of the main stream media all conspired against him. We don’t now need mealy-mouthed politicians like Starmer trying to placate the centre-right and the Israel lobby - we need people with a vision, who are concerned about the sort of world our young people will inherit.

That hit the lowest paid, but the technically qualifieds wage rates have also been undermined by EU immigration, Polish Plumbers and Sparks. .
Why not just reintroduce Wages Councils? Why not drop taxes and NI Rates on the lowest wages? Why not cancel VAT on food stuffs? Why not drop taxation on Staff gratuities in the Retail-Leisure sector?
