wow Thank you so much this is the best tutorial ever it helped me 1000 times over. you work is so well taught on your video i really cannot thank you enough!!!!
+Yolan S. Yuliasari I used cover paste fondant and modelling paste mixed 50/50 for the body so it sets firm. Modelling paste is an edible paste by Renshaws that sets very hard if used on it's own and I sometimes mix it if I have plenty of time to allow it to set, this gives a slightly smoother finish and reduces costs. Hope this helps.
Hi, I love this elephant topper and I have one just like it to make in a few weeks. I'm also loving the board you have it sitting on and the pink and blue patchwork pattern on the board. Is it a silicone mould you used? If so where did you get it from as I would like to purchase it, if I can find it? I've seen one by either Katy Sue or Karen Davies if I am correct? Many thanks, Elena
Thank you Elena. I didn't use a mould for the board patterning. For the white I used a small blossom cutter and imprinted this into the fondant. For the pink I used a non slip matt as it has a nice pattern - you can see me use the same matt in my Teddy Bear Cake Topper tutorial to make a blanket. Thank you for watching & supporting my channel.
Hi, do I have to stack elephant on cake before transporting or after reaching the destination and with what do I glue the elephant on cake? Please help me on theses.....
Hi Kaukab, you could do either. I usually use a little bit of royal icing to secure toppers to the cake & I let it set overnight. As this topper is not heavy you should be ok to transport on the cake if it has been secured well. It would also be ok to place topper once cake reaches its final destination providing the cake won't be moved around lots. Hope this helps & thanks for watching
Hi Kaukab, when I have a 3 tiered cake I take to venue in 2 parts. I would secure bottom & 1st tier together using royal icing left overnight to set, I would place this elephant topper on 3rd tier & leave to set overnight then transport in 2 sections & stack when I get to final destination. Some people are braver than me and transport fully stacked - it depends how brave you are. Hope this helps
Thanks for watching Donna. Not sure why it says other vid's don't exist, maybe try clicking on Max's Cake Studio & click on Videos tab, hope this helps :0)
