You have to put weights in the sled. No tractor pull has an empty sled. Lol. Those little rubber tabs on the belts are designed that way so that if kids just run them straight for too long, it doesn't rip the guts out of the gears like it would if they were fixed to the box. I'm willing to bet that if you put a big rock or "cement blocks" in the box, these will work way better.
In reality of course, but even though we know adding weight or pressure will get them to work, the toy is meant to be played with as a stand alone product and the card doesn’t say to add anything to make the play experience work correctly. I try to follow whatever suggestions or instructions are on the card first, then obviously the user can add whatever they need to make it actually work (if that makes sense, ha). The flat weight base is also a bit strange to me as if it was meant to have weight added to it like via a rock or other weight, it should have been an empty rectangle box with walls so the weight would stay on the sled. Overall I still think these are a good price point even though they do take some extra effort to function.
These are cool and worth that money 😎 There should be quite a lot of different pulling tractors. I like mostly older tractors and there is couple Allis Chalmers D21 tractors called "Orange flame" and "Milwaukee mudder", those look great 👍 Sadly i'm from Europe, so Ertl is hard to find, just couple farmtoy stores sell Ertl here... I have quite a lot of 1:64 tractors, found from Ebay from European collectors and couple I have ordered from US.
That would be awesome - they did sell a monster truck arena that was in the Superchargers line which I have but have never built. I would definitely take an action drivers version!
I recently started collecting Ertl farm equipment myself. I found the Farm Country tractor pull set on ebay but they’re pricey. Hard to find. I would be curious if these would work on it.
