See the velvet between two layers of paper, roughly tack the fabric and paper then see. Mum made me a velvet jacket this way and I am using this method to see a velvet dress at present

“Just use brute force to get the thing flipped right side out”
    The most accurate description 😂

I’m glad I’m not the only one who always makes the opening just small enough to be difficult 😂

I like your project. And I loved Ever After. I would suggest understitching so that your under layers are less likely to roll out. It's one of my favorite sewing techniques that I learned this year. It makes ironing the folded edges of a seem easier too. It's the best. It might seem like more work at first. But it's much less. And it's a great alternative to top stitching.

Use a walking foot when sewing slippery fabric. It really helps.

Basting is never ( repeat NEVER) a waste of time. It will save you so much more time and frustration than if you try to sew without basting. Especially if you are machine sewing. Some fabrics, like velllllvet, will make you crazy if you don’t baste. I also suggest interlining. Try it. You could have tried one with basting and one without. Try it you’ll see.

I know, it is out of pure laziness that I avoid it. Then end up making it harder

@@AndSewitBegins you have made me want to make one of these. So many Renaissance costumes make you look pregnant. This one does not. I really like it. I can’t wait to see you finish this one.

I like your pajamas. And this year is awful, the least they could do is let us have Christmas!
