"If I do that, Then I am exactly what the people who say I am a problem in this country think I am. I am a worker and I came here to work not to beg. One day someone will see that, and I will get a real job"

@@crystalcarter1387 I bought a fresh pizza one day, granted it's not the healthiest I just wanted pizza. I saw 2 young homeless teenagers and offered my pizza, they gave me condescending looks and said no, I don't know if it's cuz they preferred money or because I'm black so I kept going. Then I passed an older homeless man and offered him some, he took a slice I asked if he'd like a second he said he didn't want to eat up my food, I told him even if he did I'm going home and there's enough food and I just want him to have some too, so he took a second slice and was beyond grateful. I haven't seen him in a while, I hope he's ok.

I feel bad for anyone who has been in a situation like this.
I lived in a station wagon for a month in my driveway because my house was unfit for human habitation. It was winter and I hated every minute of it
after a while you get used to it
Donât feel bad for them, help them out next time!!
Iâve done this when I left an abusive relationship. It was extremely liberating but Iâm not sure if it was the van, or the fact I left that situation. Either way, best time of my life.
I did it for 6 months in 2006. Nothing to it
I lived outta my car for a time in southern USA, and the best thing I did was purchase a gym membership at a 24 hour gym. That got me parking at night as well as SHOWERING, which wasnât mentioned at all in this video, aside from a bathroom wipe down. Mad respect though for those living out of their car right now.
Had water lead for about 2 weeks used the 24/hr gym to shower best idea ever

My name is Yoshikage Kira. I'm 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don't smoke, but I occasionally drink. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn't lose to anyone.
@@tykensston well alrighty then..
When the video first started and he went to the day labor spot I immediately thought about the fact that those guys need that work much more, then after it was stated he felt the same, paid for breakfast a couple times, went back with envelopes of cash and attempted to put them in touch with potential gainful/fair paying/ fair treatment employment... Well all I can say is respect from me was earned right there... Well done.
Exactly my thought
The most beautiful thing is that I think this man actually exists. He has a heart made out of pure gold, but he has little self care
@@berbal9658 ofc he exists silly!
Before covid, if you had a gym membership you could exercise and shower. Then crash in a Walmart parking lot in the back of the truck, then roll out to work in the morning.
Now though, that would be rough
Can't do that in all Walmart parking lots
That's EXACTLY what I did. Went to sleep at 9, woke up at 5:30, started work at 7, got off at 5:30, went to the gym, worked out, showered, ate, killed a couple hours, then find a Walmart or Love's to park in for the night
yeah its messed up. And its the government doing all this, not the 'pandemic.' They act like they care so much, but its deception.
@@BigDaddy-fy1xn Gotta find the 24 hour Walmart then!
Walmart was my usual go to when I lived in my car. Also, making notes of all the 24 places and gas stations. Wawa was the best place since at night if u need a bathroom it's a shorter walk than Walmart. And couldn't agree more on the gym membership. This was back when 24 hour fitness was still around and it'd be 2 in the morning and I'd be hanging in the pool there.

@Marcos Filho subsidized public housing helps keep people from living in their cars. Subsidized mega corporations that take in record breaking profits but don't pay income taxes while also not paying liveable wages is the bull in the china shop. Iâm a college student and work full time to pay tuition. During one of the summers all my friends left town and I was left to live in my car for a month. It took about a week before I started to feel a bit of the mental toll really start to hurt. I found myself also getting stares, and being looked down upon by people. Staying clean and healthy was even harder without a space to prepare a meal properly. It really taught me a lot and made me look at the homeless and people in need in a whole new light. Theyâre people too. They need friends and love and all the things the rest of us need. I urge anybody that sees somebody homeless or hungry to take a minute and get some sandwiches, and have a conversation. It really brings life back into those with no hope left.

I was homeless from the time I was 16 until I was 22. I was living out of an abandoned trailer from an 18 wheeler. In that time I saved any money I could then when I was 22 I bought a car and started living out of that. I didnât consider that being homeless tho as it was shelter that I owned and even tho it was a 1991 CRX (literally one of if not the smallest cars you can find) and Iâm over 6 feet tall, I tore out all the plastics from the back and had a futon mattress that I could roll up and unroll so when it came time to sleep I could just put the seats all the way forward and unroll my mattress and it was actually really comfortable. I bathed every evening in the river that ran thru my town so that was never an issue. I met my wife during that time and we both saved up money and wound up getting a place together. Now 10 years plus later Iâm almost 40 and we have 3 kids ages from 9 to almost 2 and are on the verge of being homeless once again to no fault of our own. Funny how thing go full circle.

Every night was always a lingering thought of whether someone was outside your car or if you would be woken up in the early hours of the morning by police trying to harass and ticket you . The whole city of San Diego hates the homeless by the way . The warmth we had was that of eachother to keep us going . So many hopeless sleepless nights . When you lived like we did people look at you as less of a person but it was the most humbling experience of my life and for any of you reading this going through it too. When I see a challenge it's like Christmas morning
He is being legend
This is one of my favorite video's of all time in CZcams, the personalities of these good, hardworking honest people are not shown out as they should be. thanks for doing that. everyone deserves to tell there story, everyone has one. thankyou for telling there story for them.
I love this guy! He gives me hope that there are still great people left in the world and it makes me want to do better and pass my blessing forward even if they are few in number! Thank you infographics for helping teach people and bring awareness to these issues!
How about âwork at a restaurant and live off only those wages for two weeksââïž
This challenge is way harder and he gets paid much less than min wage. And hes putting in almost double the amount of work time that min wage jobs pay.
So one paycheck's work or the orientation time? Think restaurant work has been documented enough online.
Alfred Gomez man idk I just wanted another of my challenge ideas to be done đ
Apartments are getting more expensive all over the place not only in big cities and small cities and towns as well

Coming from a hard working Hispanic family I really appreciate you guys for making this episode , I too was living in my car last year for a couple months I know some may still be in their car watching this video , better days will come keep your chin up and try your best to keep clean with this pandemic đ· a simple acknowledgment will make anyoneâs day better please be nice to anyone down on their luck
Peace and love guys
Iâm watching this from my car which I use to live in. The biggest difference is I have a way to make money using the car, food delivery. Finding a spot @ night is a challenge from cops threatening to arrest me for trespassing to others annoying me. I usually try to find a dark area with no street/parking lights.
