    Love to see a shootout with the Capra although the Optic is a trail rig and the Capra, with portals, is designed as a crawler (and should outperform it). No excuse for leaky shocks - a properly designed shock with a seal kit is a no-brainer. Btw, battery straps are in the driver side battery compartment. Great little RTR, just not a Capra.

      @the-ab-outdoors  Před 26 dny +1

      Agree with everything you've stated! The only reason the capra was brought up is because there's really nothing else like this. Maybe the 1.9 wraith? 🍻🍻

    Received mine on Thursday. As soon as I got it out of the box the left front shock was wet with leaking oil. Vanquish put out beautiful, innovative, and durable trucks. But their shocks are horrible. My Stance and Phoenix leak too.

      Yea that's unfortunate! 🍻🍻

      same...i even gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered option parts for them and re-built them. Still leaky. Is the RC shock the most difficult thing in the world to make?

      @@brianmassey7563 it must be! The caps are the worst offender in my experience. 🍻🍻

    Nice review. $500 trail truck RTRs are numerous. I love all the things they did with the body and future upgrades and such, but it's like they want us to buy a $500 base to build on, and a lot of the build options require other axles and transmissions. So, for me, this as an RTR is a hard pass. Kit....sure. Unless that axle steers as well as an F10 I don't want it, lol (it's hard to go backwards).

    • @the-ab-outdoors
      @the-ab-outdoors  Před 26 dny

      Pretty spot on! The axles will never steer as good as the f10s until you fix the link width. The tires will ALWAYS hit the links unless you get some 90 degree bends in them. I'll be pointing this out on the next installment! 🍻🍻

    Josh said on last weeks live stream RTR sales compared to kits are easily 10:1, lots of non nerds out there that just want to have some RC fun.

    • @the-ab-outdoors
      @the-ab-outdoors  Před 27 dny

      That doesn't shock me, most people want instant gratification. Coupled with the fact that a kit has to be pieced together, and then you have to realize how much you're spending. That's when people turn around and run away lol....🍻🍻

    This is the first RTR I would consider buying, lets see how much it is in the UK.

    • @the-ab-outdoors
      @the-ab-outdoors  Před 27 dny

      Depending on how long the kit takes, I would probably wait on that. There have been many complaints already on diffs being blown. 🍻🍻

    It looks great but doesn't appeal to me. I think my money would go to a Fordyce/Phoenix or even the Redcat Fusion over this. This is going to be one expensive trail rig after all is said and done. VP wheels with tires/inserts? At least $250.

    • @the-ab-outdoors
      @the-ab-outdoors  Před 26 dny +1

      Nothing you've stated is wrong, I think there will be a lot of cool builds with it, but they'll use capra/f10/etc axles. Most of the weight will have to be cut from the body/cage.... OR.... a metric ton of weight will need to be added to the axles to keep it planted. As for VP wheels..... We would love to have them, but we're already 700 deep in this optic, and another 250 plus isn't in the cards..... 🍻🍻

    90 ounces are heavy ?? In what universe?

    • @the-ab-outdoors
      @the-ab-outdoors  Před 26 dny

      When over 50 percent of the weight is in the cab and cage it's heavy. When you spend more time rolling the truck back over than driving it, there's an issue... 🍻🍻
