    Excellent overview.
    I have the SRK in sk-5 and a Recon Tanto in 3v and they are both solid performers.

    I'm a little weiry about buying certain things from Amazon such as a higher end knife. I've read about the knock offs that are out there, it's not just Cold Steel it's everyone. I'd rather pay more knowing I'm getting the real deal than a cheaper knock off. Just my personal opinion. Their fantastic knives.

      Valid opinion! I’ve bought probably 50 knives off Amazon since 2017 and never had a fake! Of course I only buy when it’s prime (free returns) so I can send it back if it’s a knockoff. Thanks for watching

    I'M SURE ITS BEEN STATED PREVIOUSLY BUT THIS IS NOT A FLAT GRIND IT IS A SABER GRIND. SABER GRIND AND FLAT GRINDS ARE NOT THE SAME.

      Flat grind and sabre grind are really only 2 halves of a proper description of a grind.
      As in, "full flat" or "hollow sabre." This particular SRK would be a flat sabre grind.

    I can see you have a thing about SRK, don't blame you 😁 You have good prices, here in UK my friend payed for his VG1 £160~200$ two years ago. With longer cutting edge the blade feels longer as well. Hope with the ne management Cold Steel to stay on the right way. Cheers.

      There's a lot of uncertainty about GSM Outdoors purchase of Cold Steel. Do they end up with no name steel in clam shell packaging at the large box stores, Or something in-between? Time will tell.
      I love a lot of the Cold Steel fixed blades. Especially SRK, Master Hunter, Pendleton hunter, Trailmaster, Recon Scout, And Magnum Tanto. Thanks for watching my friend

    I've had both srks in 3v bought the new one in the 130ish price point and it was a bargain. I'd still pay 200 but that is a lot for a knife

      Amazon had it for $128 just 3-4 months ago, At beginning of Covid, Which is when I bought this one. When researching pricing for video I noticed the $200 range at 3 or 4 different vendors including Amazon.
      After I uploaded the video I saw Knife Center had a Pre order for $145 , So I added that to description section. $140-$150 would be the sweet spot, But your right, I'd pay $200. Thanks for watching

    Nice knife and great quality, but for the price you can get a Fallkniven S1 Pro with the new laminated CoS steel. That’s the price if you just get the knife itself and not the waterproof box and sharpener package. For a beat to hell camp knife I still have a Cold Steel Trailmaster as well. Thanks for the look at the different SRK models.

    Ah so the 3V version now has a flat grind? Didn't it have a hollow grind? I'd definitely prefer flat

    Thank you for the review, Italy have some famous knifemakers , like Extrema Ratio , they make realy great knifes, check them out So I think you can trust in the italian version. The Srk is still one of my favorits, I have the Aus8 and Sk5 version. Don t want chips on my blade

      That being said, I've heard misc rumblings of spotty heat treats on these Italian CS blades. No problems so far with mine! Thanks for watching

      Hi Zack, Thanks for watching. The SRK has been made in Carbon V, AUS8 , VG1, San Mai (With VG1 and VG10 core), SK5, And 3V. The current production has San Mai and SK5 being made in Taiwan . The stonewashed CPM -3V is made in Italy.

      Your not bothering at all. The best "beater" knife for the cost is the SK5 (about $45) SRK. The one I would buy for a lifetime blade would be the 3V version.

      They've now come out with the srk-c which has a 5" blade and all the sk5 versions now have three color options for handles, black, green, and tan.

      Depends on what your going to do with the blade and if you want stainless for your use. I'd always say 3V if I had to choose personally. Thanks for watching Mike

    Whatever you do, don't put a convex edge, on the primary cutting edge, cold steel will void the warranty. Even though it gives a stronger edge, it voids your warranty if anything happens with the knife.

      @@knifevideochannel4657 i tell people because i have had two warcraft tanto's and both had faults in the steel. But because i put a convex edge on it. They will not cover the warranty. Cpm3v is not what they always make it out to be.

      I've read reports of failures (maybe heat treat) of both the Taiwanese and Italian made 3V SRK. Overheating the edge during grinding usually causes chips, Blade failures are HT?!? Hoping this stonewashed version is solid.

    I also am a fan of Cold Steel. I own a few Cold Steel blades but the one that is my favorite is the trail master. Mine is in CPM 3V and I love it. But it takes FOR EVER to sharpen that steel.
