- Have you ever wanted to try and survive the zombie apocalypse in Terraria? Well you can't unless you get this video to 5k likes but I CAN. There's no way we can overcome this Terraria challenge but we'll see how far we can get in this hardcore, manhunt style mod.

The issues with this gamemode could be fixed with some honor code. No spawn camping, no guardian strats.
Maybe have the Wall of Flesh revive all players back to the living team for hardmode? There's potential here if you want to go after it!
Yeah, several changes have already been made to help balance things a bit more.
maybe an item that homes onto the nearest zombie within 20 blocks and turns them human craft able with 20 souls of light and night alongside a WOF treasure bag

Seeing that dungeon guardian strat just seems.. Unfair for a run like this.
Yeah, pretty much. After the fact I asked the mod creator to make it so dungeon guardians also kill zombies so they won't be able to do that.
Ask the mod creator to also disable zombies from building in spawn, being immune to bosses, make their spawn to 30 seconds and disable the health scaling on expert or at least cut it by a decent margin
Like bed bombing, I feel that it should not be allowed and that the mod be tweaked for them to still die to that. Cause if they weren't twiddling their thumbs placing walls they would have ruined the entire game during the boss fights.
tbh I would also say things like magic, ranged, summons and explosives as well would be unfair, zombies should be limited to melee weapons because they don't have the intelligence to use anything else.
Actually throw in the ability to build traps and camping bases in general.

I’d imagine if you did a 10 min grace period everyone would last longer, cuz they could take a bunch of risks in the beginning and possibly get riskier gear during that time.

The mod definitely NEEDS tweeking. Dungeon Gourdians shouldn't be able to follow zombies if they don't get damaged by them. Preferably Zombies should take damage from all bosses. Bosses SHOULDN'T scale to the original players count, and, personally, i mean like, if i had executive decision here... there should be some kind of way to "Cure" zombies. Like, the very first defeat of a certain boss would cause the next zombie that dies to get cured. Like, through the power of the boss the immune system kicks in and cures the zombie virus or something. Because this way, a single player dying shouldn't necessarily mean the run is dead or will end much sooner. It would still snow-ball out of control if there are like 2 or more zombies, but this should be able to minimize the damage I think. So this would help with balancing all across the game. And because zombies can just attack the cured one when they turn back, so it also might be best for them to be instantly teleported to a random part of the world apon revival. So it just applies the teleportation potion effect.

The zombies not taking damage from the bosses is insane
Here is how I would "Balance" this. Anyone who is a zombie when a boss is killed for the first time comes back alive. If everyone is wiped at once its game over. Keep a score of who gets the most zombie kills, they get MVZ (Most valuable zombie) at the end of it all. Oh and play around with the idea that the first base on natural spawn that you guys build is a safe zone, so you and the zombies can buy and collect there without conflict. Just a idea.

Wow, I don't know what to say. I can't ever sit down and just watch a memorable video. Also I feel like this is a good thing to do with like 20 people on mediumcore (and some boss health adjustments). If you do do could I be invited? Honestly either way I love your content man, keep it up.

out of all my terraria playthroughs i have never seen nor knew that glow tulips existed
so glad i started watching Throarbin because i've been introduced to so many good content creators through these amazing collabs he does
Easiest strat as a zombie is to just rush queen bee larve as you said at the end and teamwipe at the very start while everyone is undergeared

it would of been epic if you guys clutched out WOF and did a "Zombie Apocalypse Pt.2" where you all get revived for hardcore mode.
Honestly I feel like if you wanted to make these last longer with a better chance of seeing it to the end, making grace points where, like, making so much progress allows you to ressurect would be a neat idea, esp with lower player counts.
Love the idea, how about a real zombie apo inside Terarria? Instead of Players turning, give them a hunger bar (can be filled with plants/food), turn all or most mobs into variations of zombies upon entering hardmode and try to beat the game while having hundreds of zombies spawning/swarming you.
Ideas:
If possible, you could enable the towers from the tavern siege mode into the normal game, so you can build defenses besides the simple lava pit.
Have flying zombies too.
If possible, have an infection meter, that when you get hit, you get infected % wise. You have to cure it, or you die and are out (possible option to let them join zombies, but that might make it too hard)
Maybe even add a zombie boss after moonlord to end the zombie apo for some time/forever.

This mode should make zombies spawn more... make nights last longer and in my opinion that will make this will make this mod and challenge better
Still this is very good... good job!
Night are twice as long and days half as long. Zombie spawns were meant to be increased but it ended up increasing spawns of all enemies instead.

The only thing that is a bit wrong is that you turn into zombie without being infected, how about you make it so that you don't turn into zombie if the thing that killed you isn't a carrier (mobs are carriers, like bats can be one's, skeletons can't, they're just bones) with the exception of stuff that will overpower the virus like a literal god or a demon, also corruption or crimson probably shouldn't infect you with zombie virus instead it can make you a dark or bloody mummy? I guess that would make a bit of sense

Glad you liked the video, lol. I had considered making it so only certain mobs or types of death would cause infection but ended up going for all deaths so that way 1) people would actually turn into zombies and make things interesting and 2) there are methods for intentionally getting yourself killed by other things so as to avoid being zombified. Mostly, I just wanted to ensure we'd get some zombies.

zombies do not get target by summons. I asked the modder to make it so Queen Bee would despawn rather than hunt everyone down

Good video idea 3 worlds 8 players one world will be a pvp arena the other two will be large world two different teams 4v4 each player on each team has to be a different class set a time for 2 hours for each team to gather resources then come back n fight on the pvp world whoever wins get a bonus reward then you go back to the grind after another two hours you fight again this continues till moon lord is defeated then a final fight for all the marbles

Did the zombies kill anyone? I think this was really just hardcore.
Hm, sort of, the zombies were responsible for putting pressure on people that resulted in mistakes or being put in a bad position, but I don't think any of them did actually get a direct kill.
Theyres a tactic grind but you need to be there it's not like permanent you have to swing your sword and what you need is a hammer and any block and a sword that can swing the block will be flatten because you have to swing the hammer once and the block will become -1 height so you can hit a enemy with a whip or a sword or a spear so yeah

@@Throarbin i think you’ve misunderstood me. Im pretty sure there’s a special terraria server or mod that basically lets you play zombies like in cod, but in terraria. Buy weapons and revive friends and there’s a specific terraria map for it. Due to it being in terraria i suggested it :)
i would litteraly think of doing hardcore mode AS a zombie- bosses are annoying
