Nothing built my quads more than this order. 1.leg extenstion to failure . 2. Smith Machine squats closer feet. 3. Safety bar squat natural stance to build abductor then bring hams in too. Then hit hams after that.

Spoiler: it's back squats. Anyways, don't forget your hamstrings (and calves if you care about aesthetics)

I hope this comment isnt taken the wrong way! I love you guys and think your awesome but for some time now you guys tend to answer the same questions essentially over and over again! Ive listened for years and have learned a ton! I get it new comers arrive and may have this question! Im just saying i see the questions asked on your quah on your insta some really well put complex questions that im oooo hope the boys answer this one but here we are again talking about quad builders. Again im a huge fan so hope its not taken in a negative fashion! Your introductory portions are always entertaining af! Listen everyday on my commute to the iron paradise

Deadlifts are also good for lower body strentgh and mass, not only for hamstrings but also for quads.

I actually got bigger quads doing 100 reps using a trx and doing body squats with it. Obviously I would still do squats and what not but I couldn't get enough hypertrophy because after 50 reps with weights I'd feel it in my knees.

With Lunges and Bulgarians, people don't load them enough with the proper form ie at least a 200 lb weight (barbell preferably or dumbbells ) for a 200 pound man for 5 reps.

I feel like if you dont have the mobility to do a deep squat you shouldn't avoid it you should work on it. I couldn't even go half way down with just the bar and my knees shaking. Now I can basically sit on the ground with weight, just keep doing it over and over

im not a fan of isolated muscle training since my goal is to become generally stronger. thats why i prefer squads and romanian deadlifts for my main lower body exercises. i also think they are most fun and require a good amount of concentration. for me they are just the best ones.

So much broscience. Squats absolutely do not grow your hamstrings or calves. Show me a single study that shows activation or cross-sectional muscle thickness studies of the hamstring or calf with any single study and I’ll eat my words.
These guys are right about the hack squats though. The hack squats are great for someone who finds that a regular squat has been growing their glutes more due to a lack of hip/ankle mobility. Guys or girls with long femurs are typically the victims of shitty barbell squat form which is why you typically see people of Asian ethnicities being quite lower body dominant due to shorter appendages and longer torsos

    • @darkdahaka7965

Any deadlift will, especially Stiff legged. You can finish it off with a leg curl with a dumbbell or band.
And yes, deep squats will engage the hammies but it’s not optimal for sure
