Welcome back to sunny Sentosa! ☀️🏝️ And yes, at 1:07, the diesel engine is running at the bus stop since there may not be enough energy stored in the battery (the engine runs to power the generator to produce electricity to charge the battery in this case in order for the bus to travel on EV mode).
The B5LH is currently my least favourite bus to ride on and thankfully I rarely ride it unless I take bus 59 from my place to run some errands at Changi Village. And when I do, the bus always feels stuffy and the AC isn't exactly cold so that does not help. The 3 rear seats are so cramped too especially with that big thingy in the rear that takes up the space in the back. Makes me appreciate the Citaro and KUB even more.
Yes, B5LH is a parallel hybrid, whereby the combustion engine and electric drivetrain are two separate components of the bus. Hence, it is possible for the bus to travel only via one mode of drivetrain (and occasionally the engine runs the generator in the electric drivetrain to charge up the batteries when they are low on charge).
It's quite weird to see it shift from diesel to electric like that. Usually for me it's on electric mode only when it's stops or when pulling off for 5-10 seconds before diesel turns on for the gears
123 is definitely a good service for these B5LH. SBS should take all the B5LH from 272 and put them on this service👍. Hopefully LTA buys more Hybrid buses in the future especially for those long distance routes...and please improve the air con, the B5LH aircon is quite weak😅 Edit: I know Electric buses are supposed to be a little softer and environmental friendly but i have doubts too of b5lh on 123. One: The Animals might not hear the buses approaching and will dash across the road. I know animals arent dumb but still...
The Volvo B5LHs at CDC Victoria that we have are really unreliable and break down quite often CDC dont really take good care of them either most of our older buses are more reliable
@@glitchFan2428 ......until more electric buses come (which removes the B5LH from Sentosa services as Sentosa is pushing towards a 100% electrified bus fleet)
It is much more nicer to see different type of buses In Sentosa bus route 123

The great come back of Volvo SD buses on service 123
6:00 when Zhongtong N12 meets Volvo B5LH
I love taking 123 to Sentosa
Actually it’s nice that b5lhs are on 123 and love the vlog style videos haha

I dislike the bus for the same reasons as you
To me,the b5lh acceleration is really good
MAN NL323F A22 Is now on service 123!
Quite fast when switching between diesel and electric when speeding
Ya quite unique tuning

I have taken bus 123 many times with B5LH
I saw you on Tuesday
It is quite rare to see a B5LH on Service 123, usually it is the Scania K230UB
Not anymore, there are 2 perms on 123 nowdays as part of a trial perform by SBST
B9tl too
Citaro is also common on 123
When me joshua kavin and timothy we inside the tram

I also took the bus yesterday
When did u ride it?
Maxson u back in Singapore?

yeah
To be honest, I waited for B5LH at Tiong Bahru and it's not there
6:15 to 6:20 It is another electric bus that goes from RWS to Beach INT I saw it
It is a Zhongtong N12. This bus is recently transferred from the NUS Campus Shuttles to Sentosa.
Weird to see more B5LH getting ads… they are no longer new now…

damn that's a good point, i think they might turn the electric mode on only when the road has barriers to prevent animals from crossing
Hi L JD I’m back😏
How can 3:20 it can still be in electric mode on that speed? Anything to do with the batteries on top of the right front wheel?
It seems to be "geofenced" to go electric at specific points of the route I think. I'm not very sure
So in his normal schedule he will be turning on diesel in Sentosa it’s elitric 3:05
Wow u got luck can get advert 123 b5lh cameo without camping 👍
Oh no🫣🫣

Gotta love older buses
B5LH common on 123 🤣🤣🤣
Obviously, it's literally announced by SBS transit that b5lhs will perm this service
@@glitchFan2428 last time it was rare
Wish it was still rare
