    I played this game yesterday with three other friends and loved it, especially the part of bluffing. Just before the end of this one round only me and another player were left. I was holding the Princess and then picked up a Chancellor. What I did was to play the Chancellor where I picked a Guard and a Baron. I kept the Baron and placed the Guard and the Princess at the bottom in such order so I would be sure that later I would pick up the Guard and my friend the Princess. Then she played another Guard she was holding naming the Princess that she thought I had in my hand and received a negative response. Next turn, she picked up the Princess and I could see her joy in her face for she had the highest ranking card just before the end of the round, but it was already over. I picked up the last Guard card that I had placed myself there two turns ago and simple named her having the Princess, ending the round. She asked me how the hell I was sure that she had the Princess and became furious when she learned that I had placed it there few moments ago. Oh that feeling of pleasure :D

    Hi Rodney, there's one situation I've always been confused about that you kind of touched on. Suppose all of the other players have played Handmaiden this round and on my turn I have a Prince and the Princess. Since I can't play Prince on anyone else, would I be forced to play the Prince on myself, discard the Princess, and thus eliminate myself?
    I've always played with a house rule that if the other players have all played Handmaiden you can "choose" one of them with Prince, in which case nothing would happen and it would just move on to the next player's turn.
    Great video as always, and yes, very impressive bag flip!

  • @fathervader

    Two questions: 1) In AEG's version, a tie at the end of a round would be resolved in favor of the player with the higher value of cards played in front of him or her. Has that rule been changed in this edition? 2) When a prince is played as the final card and the deck has been depleted, in AEG's version, the targeted player discards their card and then draws the face down card that was placed off to the side at the beginning of the round. Has that been changed as well? (Mostly just curious. Thanks!! Great work, as usual.)

    I don't quite understand the timing of the spy. Are you supposed to have it in front of you after the round ends and you're still alive (i.e. you were the last man standing or the deck finished and you weren't eliminated -even if you don't end up with the highest number-) or are you supposed to be the only one with a spy by the time the turn comes back to you?

      @Scopi Před 5 lety +3

      Being eliminated is different from not winning a round. Every player can get to the end of the round without being eliminated, assuming they are not eliminated before the deck runs out. Then you you would give one favor token to each person who has at least one spy, and one favor token to each player with the highest value card[s]. There is no "technical" elimination because someone won. You just award favor tokens based on the rules.
