- Seriously, can Hyunjin be any sexier?
We've somehow gotten ourselves into a sort of 'hyunjin marathon' with his AOTM performance and now the skz-player-athon (since the next one we got is also by Hyunjin, covering 'When The Party's Over) and we are NOT regretting a single thing for being on this path.
Incredibly sexy, while also being an objective amazing dance, all choreographed by Hyunjin himself, and this is years ago. What a human being. :D Hope you enjoy it, cuz we sure did!

I didn’t realize I was holding my breath for a long time during performance it was amazing and I was so proud of him specially after the hiatus. We missed him so much I counted the days until he came back. ❤

play with fire is hyunjin own his self choreography 1000% HIMSELF no dancer no choreographer just himself he made everything himself including the choreography the outfit idea the concept the atmosphere of place from 1 to 100 was all by himself and most precious work for himself. I've been in kpop for many years since my youthful as little dancer , I love dance I love seeing dancers , I've never seen anyone in hyunjin level in charge of dance . he has something that no one has . He's really the best 4th gen dancer for a reason, he let u experience the story the feelings the rythm he gives u everything skills facial expressions perfect body line body language in dance .
Yeah, the piercing was fake for this, but yeah. Hyunjin is suuuuuper sexy when he dances. His body control and facial expressions and emotions are ❤🔥. I am thankful that I'm an older Stay, because I almost feel sorry for teen and young 20's girls who fall for these boys. I remember my emotional regulation at that age, and I don't know how you WOULDN'T fall for them and then compare every single IRL guy to them unfairly.

hyunjin is my fav dancer and he is such an amazing performer, he express everything with every part of his body, his facial expressions are so good, he is like telling a story, i love how he is still taking dance lessons for different dance styles, he said he wants to keep learning and keep that rookie ambition, also i love how he explores so many things like, dance, choreographies, he writes and compose his own music, he loves photography, he loves painting/drawing, he loves to read and poems, he really is such an interenting artist, i never get bored with him, he is so hardworking

When that video first came out, I clicked SO FAST.
Hyunjin is the best dancer of his generation. He has not only the skill but also the genius as a performer. His stage presence is insane. To quote one of the professional dancers' reactions to his dance performance: "Hyunjin has the je ne sais quoi, the lust for life, he's got it all!" He is also a dance teacher among the group members, editing the choreography and teaching it to the members. And stays are so proud of him. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
It's such a great choreography, the fact he did this himself 3 years ago shows how talented he is. I watched his Instagram live the other day, when he was drawing and painting, and, as someone who works with illustrators, I can't get it out of my head, so much talent!!! And the performance with Yeji is superb. You can really see his growth, and they managed to both be in the center of attention and work well together (the behind the scenes are so cute, and also show their hard work).
I'm not sure if I read something in this vein in some comment or what, but I always think at the beginning (and the very end) that during the dance he's representing a prince that's trapped and constricted. He slowly loses himself in the dance, and the ropes loosen, so much so that he can briefly be his true self, laughing near the floor and dancing with the flower (strong and vulnerable both). But in the end, he has to be standing "correctly" again and come back to his reality. The shirt remains untucked, so he does retain some of his rebellion. Maybe I'm reading too much, but I wanted to share (and since I don't know about music production or dance techniques, I can talk about storytelling, which is my thing ✨🤭).

Yes! That's exactly the meaning I get from him too, Choosing to be your authentic self against a world that is forcing you to conform is hard, sometimes there are consequences, it is quite literally playing with fire. I feel he says it quite loudly in his choreo. Also with the black&white part where the sound fades, as if when he blocks out all the distractions it is then when he can hear himself, and we see him dancing to the sounds of the flames, not the music. Love this choreo so much 😍

Yes you mentioned right the almost psychotic look in this video and AOTM are both there and if I remember correctly when they were choreographing AOTM he told them that he wanted to add that same kinda feeling to his performance and those choreographers and of course he too didn't disappoint at all.

when it come to dance no one can be in hyunjin level he's next level he's art like perfect in what he does and he keeps learning more he takes dance classes more he's perfectionist he's so pro and in charge of dance he's in same level as legends like kai taemin. Ofc taemin and hyunjin also close friends now . And hyunjin is the 4th gen dancer that so many idols chose him as their role model from men to women that's itself a proof of how incredible dancer he's like no one in 4th gen dance as him .
What you were saying about how all these great dancers include the two different extremes in their performances that shouldn’t work together but then do - that reminded me of how, in undergrad, we would talk about thesis/antithesis/synthesis and that it was sort of the buzzword (if a concept itself can be a buzzword) at the time (this was 2002-2006). Basically, it was something about how two opposite ideas (a thesis and antithesis) can, just by existing, have a synthesis between them, which is the tension/friction of them with each other that also somehow unifies them into a singular concept. So what you were saying isn’t that far off from that, and those academic discussions were taking place in the essay-writing course we all had to take our first semester, and were mainly about art and describing its theories and criticism. So yeah, you make sense ☺️

If I'm not wrong, it is my understanding this was Hyunjin's "return" from his completely unexpected hiatus (that started after the 1st week of Kingdom). Months(?) of worry and concern about him, and then this dropped. I believe Stays went into cardiac arrest (for several reasons)!

Ahh. It was a great reaction, until you said there must have been other dancers helping. Why? Hyunjin worked on this during his hiatus, and all that raw emotion definitely shows. What's so amazing is that he had a really tough time with choreo for the first couple of years, and then he was exposed to many different dance forms at SOPA, and it was that eureka moment. And now he just can't get enough - it's become his passion and obsession. (Red Lights).
I've seen a former dancer's reaction to this, and she pointed out things that the average Joe would never notice in a million years, like his lack of flexibility, his bodylines, or his not being able to get as low down to the ground as dancers who have learned since childhood, and sure, she was right, but who cares? I never notice these things when I watch him, because he's just such a powerful dancer, and honestly, I feel that we wouldn't have 'this' Hyunjin, if he'd been learning for 15 or 20 years. He draws you in, and can make you feel so many emotions when you watch him. He's mesmerising... he's seductive, dominant, submissive, vulnerable, powerful, and can convey any other emotion you care to mention, with both his facial expressions, and movements. All this in just 6 years... it blows me away.
I love the way his shirt gradually becomes looser, and reveals that glimpse of his abs and the piercing... as if he isn't sexy enough, fully clothed! What a shame the piercing isn't real. I've seen another guy who at a very quick glance looks like Hyunjin, even though he's not Asian - slender with long hair and similar facial features, and he has an almost identical piercing. Not only does it look amazing, but it reminds me of Hyunjin every time I see it!
The perforformanxe with Yeji was great, but I must be the only person on earth, who doesn't think they look alike. 🤔 😁

I can’t fully explain it, but Hyunjin dances like he weighs as much as the universe and Lee Know dances like he weighs less than air. Both so powerful but so very, very unique
