I love how he never actually went into the pen, like respecting that this area is for Mom only. And the babes were just so excited to get out to meet him. Was this his first litter, because he was super chill about the pups. I'd think as a retriever, he'd be losing his mind in excitement and bouncing all over the place.

It is probably a mix of excitement, nervousness and not knowing what he is allowed to do.
