My girlfriend set the press and hold feature to text me in case she's running and someone tries to kidnap her. Not that she'll ever use it but it's literally a lifesaver if one day she did need it
Accuracy: Airtag is definitely the winner, especially if you have iPhone 11 or 12. Number of devices which will help you to find your item with one of these two devices: all iPhones and iPads and Apple watches for Apple. And only Galaxy smartphones for Samsung. So clearly Airtag is the winner.
@@michaelincognito7707 no its not 1) there are way more samsung phones than iphones that's why Samsung has top marketshare of smartphones. 2) Samsung works with not just Samsung but third party devices too so by definition it will be better than air tags
@@eventusvantos2770 wrong. Samsung dont have the biggest market share. If you are talking about OS, well, android is bigger than iOS. iPhones have the biggest marketshare talking about the devices themselves. And for pricing he is comparing different tiers as he is only comparing smartags, not the smartags+. As smart tags only uses BLE. Which wouldn’t tell you exact location if you are nearby. The “+” adds the UWB chip. But then it will actually cost more.
@@trueofknowledgerepublican.6395 A Tile could be right in front of me and the app can’t find it. I have walked around the house trying to find my keys and even when i find them and place them right in front of the phone it gets nothing. Not always, but those times I needed to find something. I gave up on Tiles.
You missed the most important feature on the air tag. The ability to track the AirTag when it’s lost anywhere outside of Bluetooth range. Because it uses Find My network on iPhone devices it will send a location when anyone with iPhone and Find My walks near it, making items pretty fast to find if it’s in a populated area. That’s a massive feature and more important than gimmicky light switches etc. AirTag is for tracking, simple and on point. I understand AirTags are only exclusive to Apple users but saying Samsung smart tags are much better is bit of a stretch, better for Samsung users… sure.
The reason he didn't mention it is cause at the very beginning of the video he said and I quote "it does the exact same thing". It ping its location with other Samsung devices like the airtag does for iPhone but the smart tag has additional functionality since it can be tracked with the Bluetooth signal strength and have its range increased further still if you have a ultra wideband phone with the smartag plus as well as the nfc and button programming. He just wanted to cover the additional features which is why he glossed over the features everyone already knew about. To be fair he should have done a side by side comparison for people not familiar with all the features of either one like comparing ipx rating, sound, ease of use for the app, range, etc.
Scary people can stalk you with AirTags far easier than tile or possibly smartag. Tile is scary now because it connects to Amazon sidewalk network comprised of echos and doorbell ring (as opposed to smarttag Samsung network and AirTag to Apple findmy network). If you walk past a house or building with Amazon echo inside or ring at their door, Low frequency long range..
Apple always plays these games where you have to buy something (loop) after you already bought something (airtag). Same story with no headphone jack and their other "upgrades". They take advantage of their customers, who overpay for less functionality.
Why would I want to control lights with an item tracker? Plus, if the SmartTag does the same thing (and more) than the AirTag, then how come SmartTags don’t have Precision Tracking with a U1-like chip? Also, the phone won’t let me know when the tag’s battery is low? I have to manually check battery levels for each tag? Not very ‘smart’ if you ask me!
It doesn't have to be lights. It can be programmed to control whatever you want eg for your car keys it can be made to open or close a garage so that it's more convenient and so having this option allows the tracker to be useful when it's not being used for tracking/finding Smart tag plus does have precision tracking And it's better than apples which has trouble with detecting height And yes it will let you know when the battery is low So yes its smart, cheaper, doesn't need extra case just to get loop, doesn't scratch up so easily and has more features etc so it is smart

With all due respect, this doesn’t show whether the Smart Tag is a better tracker than the AirTag. It shows that it can be a remote control for your bedside lamp. That’s as if I was to “review” the iPhone 12 and say it’s a better phone than the Galaxy S21 because it comes in purple - that’s cool, but it’s not what the phone is about.
@@OHCAM5 It has a button, Which is cool, but as a tracking device for your stuff if you have an Apple device, it is in many ways worse because it has precision finding and the big thing is the use of the "Find my network" allowing you to find it almost anywhere in the world so long as an Apple product has passed by it within Bluetooth range. So to say that it is "BETTER!" and to "Forget Air tags" is clearly AT BEST click bait and at worse just a complete intentional mischaracterization of the products for monetary gain.
@@quantuminfinity4260 ofcourse if you have an apple device the airtags are better these won't even work with anything that is not Galaxy, just like the airtags only work with apple products. Comparing them is dumb because they are not interchangeable.
I love the action button feature, but it looks like the AirTag might actually be better at allowing you to find things with that U1 chip. Those direction and distance notifications are pretty amazing.
Yes, your AirTag can be found through iPhones of other users, e.g. if your luggage got really lost (or stolen). So the AirTag cannot only be found if you are close to it but if any iPhone is close to it. But I think that Samsung does something similar through its Galaxy SmartThings-Find-Network.

Well, the smarttags aren't accurate enough. Moreover if you lose the airtags it is going to be easier to find due to millions on iphone users. I'm not a hater but I think aitags are better, for better with accuracy.
You're right there are millions of iphone users. But there are billions of samsung users. Samsung is leader in terms of quantity for a reason. And any middle range phone has a smart things app. You underestimate samsung. What stops samsung to implement the same function as apple to track your tags via others phones? If they didnt do it already.
I've test this with regular smarttag, not the +. I've bump my car and claim insurance, and leave the tag on my key. I can find the location of my car to the exact address of the body & paint workshop. As long as there's another galaxy nearby, you can find your smarttag.
Galaxy phones are more diffuse than iPhones in the US. So, you win some, you lose some. SmartTags+ have the UWB locator in them that the AirTags have. However, I like the buttons on the SmartTag a lot more. Besides, if you are trying to locate something, then, by the time that you're in BT range, you can just activate the alarm.
what about privacy? accuracy? distance? The added features are cute, but seriously who is gonna use them to control anything? Most people buying this already have smart home tech, nobody walks around the house with keys. Nobody is gonna go find their keys to turn off a light. Also, a reason Apple didnt make them with a key ring is to give you options on how to use them. Giving you flexibilty on where to place them, they’re not limited to just a key ring. I do like some of the customization options but those aren’t as important as privacy and accuracy.
Do you even know what is the U1 chip or you just copy paste what they say? .. even if you know let me tell you this, IT DOESN'T MATTER. The difference is that Apple has a huge community network. Samsung's Smartthings app network is much smaller. In addition, Apple tags can also be tagged by Android devices. Also, you don't need to buy an holder for 35$, you can just buy it from third-party manufacturers for $ 2
No, android devices can read the NFC message on the airtag but that's it. His point is you have to by an extra accesory to be able to actually use it how it's intended to be used
Control the lights? That’s what I got my phone for. I just want to attach it & forget it. Ring my phone? That’s what I got my Apple Watch for. Precision Finding is also better than “hot & cold”. AirTags for the win.
AirTags have a built in NFC tag that can be read by any phone, not just iphones. That could be an advantage if it's lost. NFC also lets you create automations from the iphone Shortcut app. So yeah, you can make routines to open garage doors, turn on lights, get directions home, call the wife, or a million other things (pretty much any app you have on your phone). Kind of similar to your SmartTag example, except you scan it instead of pushing a button. Lots more customization options for AirTags too... if that's your thing. Anyway, I don't see either as clearly "better" than the other. It's a no-brainer to just choose whichever one matches your phone. Just wanted to point out a few things you missed.
Most people would prefer to push a button to turn their lights off or open their garage door. That is more comfortable for home automation than NFC. Also, the Samsung tags have ultra-wide band and not just Bluetooth, which makes them more trackable and precise. And depending on your location, you could argue there are more Samsung phones devices on the road than iPhones, which means the network for tracking has more coverage. At least for worldwide tracking, Samsung beats Apple because the iPhone, while very popular in the US and Europe, it's almost non-existent in some places. If that is a concern for someone, travelling or global tracking and having precise location, the Samsung tags are probably a better choice.
In Philippines, Police conduct a manhunt operation against a group of criminals who committed a robbery. A group of robbers break a car's windows and stole a bag which is owned by an Attorney. The Attorney remembers that his bag has an airtag and with the help of the Police, they followed the direction and the place gave by the airtag and stops in a place where the criminals starting unloading stuffs they stole from people on that day, not knowing the Police are already in front of them.
Doubt it if so it’s probably very limited like the Samsung ear pods. Likewise airtags won’t work with Samsung phones. AirPods work but very limited. Same for the watches. So comes down to see the smart tags so much “better” you’d switch ecosystems.
Unfortunately, that's how most are brainwashed. Whenever I pull out my phone to use Samsung Pay, it usually goes like this.. "Sorry. We don't have Apple..." (card reader beeps) "Oh... Then they say to their coworker "Did you know that we can take electronic payments?" My usual expression...🙄
Yeah well but it has some nice features like an can get you to the item by extreme precision by using the u1 in the iPhones and also it got some smart features like it notifies you when your iPhone detects a airtag that isn’t yours nearby.

Saki what happened to that 1 week video after you switched from the s21 to the Oneplus 9 pro? Are you staying with the Oneplus or switching back to the S21 ultra?
I’m sorry but on aesthetics alone the air tags looks nicer. If I’m going to use a location gadget I might as well have something that looks nice. Plus if I want to control other devices in the house we have other gadgets for that. Is it going to make me breakfast as well? No! No one gadget can do everything.
Nah smart tags looks nicer black looks much better than silver which easily gets scratched up And you can customize what it controls for example if you attach it to your car keys you can make the button open and close your garage door so that way your one tracker can be both tracker for car keys and button for the Garage So it makes it much more convenient and useful when the object isn't lost
There are 3rd party key holders by far way cheaper…anyways, the smart Tag works on not too old Samsung Galaxy phones, like AirTags on not too old iPhones. Both have pros and cons, but at the end, both work stunningly good.
The whole point of these tags is how many OTHER devices will be able to detect them. Apple AirTags are detected by ALL Apple devices, iPhones, iPads, Macbooks etc. Chances are that your AirTag will be close to any such device at almost all times, thus you can always track it. These SmartTags by Samsung can ONLY be detected by Android phones and ONLY if they have the SmartThings app installed. How big are the chances that it will be near such a device? Not very likely, thus useless for tracking.
Depends which country you live in lol... most people buy Samsungs globally so in those countries the smarttag is better... in the US/Japan the airtag is better since there will be someone else nearby with the same product.
Smart Tag+ Works Precisely. The less than a dollar CR2032 Battery lasted More than a year. It doesnt give location when the battery is Too Low already But Still connect to my Phone when it's around 5 meter distance .
Thanks for the the review, but it seems that Apples has a key feature that Samsungs Smarttag doesnt. If you put the apple tag in some accessory and you lost the accessory in the train or in the bus, all iphone-network near the apple tag you lost will help you to find your accessory because a notification message will be sent to you with the location of your tag and the iPhone that give that location will not be notified and it will not even know it. This is a key feature (and "smartest") in apple tags if someone stole an accessory with your apple tag hidden inside it, or you just lost the items by far then bluetooth technology range limitation. Samsungs smarttag has the limitation of 120m range maximum, and thats it. It does not exactly kills the apple tag convenience.
No, Samsung ones do the same, I lost a galaxy watch recently, and it was close to a galaxy device and it sent me a notification of where it was, it was stolen and whomever took it, turned it off so I wasn't able to get it back, but Samsung devices work with that feature too, if the device is marked as lost, and it passed by a Samsung phone, it will send you a notification, the 120m range is for when you are using the arrow feature that tell you exactly in what direction it is, airtags have basically the same range for that feature, so there is not that much difference in that
You can see the battery status of the StartTag. That's really nice. So you can get an idea when it's time to replace it. Apple AirTag doesn't seem to have this feature.
I don't know how accurate the Smartag battery meter is. I placed a Smarttag under my wife's car back in March, 9 months later it shows that it has 90% battery life left, the owner's manual says the life of a battery is 8 months. So does this means that my Smartag's battery life will be 7 years? It's already 9 months going and only spent 10% battery life according to the app meter.
I don't know if it's accurate. I placed a Smarttag on my wife's car exactly 1 year ago in March 2022, the battery shows 96% full, that's impossible since the battery life was only supposed to last 8 months, it's a miracle it's still functioning 4 months overdue.
Will this show live updates on where my lost keys are if someone moves them after I realize they're missing, or does it just show the general area of the last time the smart tag was connected to my phone's Bluetooth?
Oh you can turn on the lights with it, cool! 🙄 it does the same the light switch does! I’m getting an airtag for what it is, Apple products never disappoint.
And so what happens if your smart tag is more then the 360 ft or whatever, like what if it goes into another state? Bluetooth won't be able to find that.
How about the comparison in terms of range ? What is the range for Air Tag ? It would be better if you could locate this device by a gps module. (Like find my phone) Approx 100 m range is such a disappointment. Why would i need it for short distances ? I could lose my belongings somewhere and be aware when i come at home. so what is the point ?
One more thing you can do with the Samsung SmartTag is use it to locate your phone. If you can't find your phone in the house, click the button and your phone will ring at max volume. Awesome feature.
Yeah you're right because that super accurate ar mode is only available on the plus smart tag..but the air tag has a similar mode on the air tag for cheaper
@@nazmulhuda3262. you have a valid point . I just hate how the air tag is getting so much attention like it's groundbreaking when samsung and then tile has had something similar and some ways better
It's only Bluetooth range though, airtags from Apple ping signals off any iPhone so if a iPhone passes by it will update the signal. If someone takes something it will keep updating you.
The airtag has the Find my network behind it, with just about every iphone and apple device around it reporting its location. the galaxy smarttag does not. bluetooth range vs people around you with iphones
The main appeal of the airtag is the extensive network of iphones that the tags can ping off of as opposed to Tile only pinging off other Tile owners. I'd assume the same would happen for this tag. Also the close range direction tracking is pretty impressive. Assigning a function sounds kinda unless since I'd be putting it on stuff I don't really carry. Can't lose my keys when your car and door are unlocked with your phone.
This video is talking about the Smart Tag, not TILE, which are two completely different products. With that said, the SmartTag does require a phone with SmartThings app installed, and it is a common app amongst Android phones. Still a much higher percentile than TILE specific owners.

If I hid some of these devices away from any heat source on my machinery and the machinery was to get stolen and moved many miles away. Would I be able to track where my stuff is via wherever the nearest Samsung phone is to my stolen stuff? Hope this makes sense?
The purpose is to help u to find ur belongings and wen that belongings lost someone will help u to reach out and that’s what AirTags all about. For sure there’s a 3rd party loop coming from Amazon
Also there are already 3rd party loops so pretending you have to get the pricey loop is disingenuous and loses credibility for me. So Soo you need to buy an airtag loop? Yeah, How much is it? Just a quick search showed one for $12. Why would you buy this? He's literally says there's a new version... Of the thing he's reviewing, that just came out, about to drop. With more features. The airtags use the "Find my " network and all the current generation iPhones to triangulated location. Why would you buy one if you use Samsung? This video would've been better served just focusing on this product instead of a false equivalency. Disappointing.
@@Player_Zhirow you don't have to get the pricely loop buts disingenuous to not not acknowledge that you're having to pay extra for the loop even if there are cheaper versions it's still something you have to pay extra for that was his point
@@eventusvantos2770 How did they not not acknowledge it? It's not mandatory to buy THEIR loop they sale. I've watched this video several times and the way he phrases it is the loop Apple sales is required. It's not, their are other options. Also a loop isn't required for purchase, just like you don't have to buy rims when you buy tires so my point stands. This video implied the loop is required at checkout. It isn't. A loop is convenient, maybe wanted, it isn't required at all.
Forget Sakitech CZcams channel definitely because non-objective videos, especially this one. I like CZcams when the youtubers are objective. That is to say when they have no bias. Either way, Sakitech is making money through the link for the Samsung product sold by Amazon. So, my advice, to find objective videos, go see other youtubers, not Sakitech ...
Good afternoon! I just programmed my 4 SmartTag+ gadgets, then I subscribed to your page! Question, what kind of tool do you use to change the batteries? Also, how do you turn off the SmartTags to conserve battery life?
before someone buys it your smarttag have to be connected to a network via. phone. this makes them useless on situation where you have no internet that means when you leave your keys or bag somewhere and your smarttag disconnects from your phone and someone takes your item you just lost it until someone connects the tags to internet again to get the location from smartthings find. compared to airtags from apple they use a tech where airtags connects to other apple products without asking any permisson to use the network they get constant internet connection and update the location allways. smarttags doesnt have thos feature so it makes them pretty much useless when you have no internet and you really have other options other than smarttag if you need internet connection to locate the device location its just such an miss opurtunity from samsung and apple just takes the win for the tags market in my oppinion.
Am I mistaken but you didn’t seem to mention that this Galaxy Smart Tag which costs the same as AirTags is lacking of UWB? Shouldn’t you then compare it to the Galaxy Smart Tag+ in terms of pricing which is 39.99 for pack of 1?

Same here. It just fails but it was the best option at the time.
You guys could use the sound in the smart tag

@@T0NYMANUEL iphones are the first that comes with "find my ..." network service that works even when the lost devices comes offline (samsung actually copied this in their phones). Samsung smarttag is not even a competitor for airtag cause its work on bluetooth only, and due to this its have much more limited functions/usecases.... (even if samsung added smarttags to their "find my .." network it still would be so much worse than airtag cause density of galaxy devices with android 10 is so small you can track nothing (it needs android 10 to work).

The difference is that Apple has a huge community network. Samsung's Smartthings app network is much smaller. In addition, Apple tags can also be tagged by Android devices.
Also, you don't need to buy an holder for 35$, you can just buy it from third-party manufacturers for $ 2

Airtags doesn't work well with android. The nfc isn't available on all phones either.
Tile has a QR code one can scan with any phone. It then goes to a site providing information for contacting the Tile owner.

If you have electric gate then Samsung tag is super convenient to open the gate through tag attached with the car key.
Nah smart tags looks nicer black looks much better than silver which easily gets scratched up
And you can customize what it controls for example if you attach it to your car keys you can make the button open and close your garage door so that way your one tracker can be both tracker for car keys and button for the Garage

There are 3rd party key holders by far way cheaper…anyways, the smart Tag works on not too old Samsung Galaxy phones, like AirTags on not too old iPhones. Both have pros and cons, but at the end, both work stunningly good.
I can tell ur a everybody gets a trophy type of person
@@lowrider94ss …we are in the Apple Garden, therefor I use Air Tags…I am stunned how good they work.
All you have to do is wait for 1 year and the tags will work with everybody since everybody buys new phones every year.
I’ve seen several comparison videos between the Airtags, this crap and the Tile thingies. And the Airtags always has been better over the other 2

Do you have to have Bluetooth turned on on the phone for it to connect initially or find the tag?
Now, are you also gonna make a reverse video with why Airtag is better than Galaxy tag?
Or you saying galaxy tag is straight up better in all ways?
No, Samsung ones do the same, I lost a galaxy watch recently, and it was close to a galaxy device and it sent me a notification of where it was, it was stolen and whomever took it, turned it off so I wasn't able to get it back, but Samsung devices work with that feature too, if the device is marked as lost, and it passed by a Samsung phone, it will send you a notification, the 120m range is for when you are using the arrow feature that tell you exactly in what direction it is, airtags have basically the same range for that feature, so there is not that much difference in that
Thanks for the review! I found out the hard way that they don't work with my Pixel phone. But neither do Airtags, so Tile tracker is right for me.
For some reason no one compared the apple vs Samsung tags.
Probably cause they don't want to piss Apple Off 🤣
Oh you can turn on the lights with it, cool!

It's only Bluetooth range though, airtags from Apple ping signals off any iPhone so if a iPhone passes by it will update the signal. If someone takes something it will keep updating you.
The airtag has the Find my network behind it, with just about every iphone and apple device around it reporting its location. the galaxy smarttag does not. bluetooth range vs people around you with iphones
the smart tags use other galaxy phones the same way the find my network uses iphones and apple devices.
Still a much higher percentile than TILE specific owners.

before someone buys it your smarttag have to be connected to a network via. phone. this makes them useless on situation where you have no internet that means when you leave your keys or bag somewhere and your smarttag disconnects from your phone and someone takes your item you just lost it until someone connects the tags to internet again to get the location from smartthings find. compared to airtags from apple they use a tech where airtags connects to other apple products without asking any permisson to use the network they get constant internet connection and update the location allways. smarttags doesnt have thos feature so it makes them pretty much useless when you have no internet and you really have other options other than smarttag if you need internet connection to locate the device location its just such an miss opurtunity from samsung and apple just takes the win for the tags market in my oppinion.
