FYI, Slot antenna’s are polarized 90 degrees from regular dipole. Physical Vertical orientation is “horizontal”, Physically Horizontal orientation is Vertical polarization...

Can you skip with that? In the early 80’s I skipped to farms in England from NJ with 1/2 wave Starduster and also to Arizona. Getting QSL cards from Germany and Isle of Man was a lot of fun
It's a bit different on 2 meters, but in short, yes.
