    Last season I switched from a Carlson's to a Patternmaster. Such a huge difference, the Patternmaster shoots much tighter and uniform, I had more kills, longer range kills, and no cripples that a can recall. Everyone in my group shot Patternmasters last season and they did the job well.

    • @MidValleyMercenaries

      There’s definitely a big difference with the shot string and knockdown at impact

  • @garrettrowe7917

    Patternmaster doesn’t shorten the shot string. That’s been proven by “Surviving Duck Season” channel with the super slow motion camera. Not taking away from their patterns bc they do look good, but they definitely don’t shorten the shot string.

      Yes and no. I mean I agree it’s definitely not at all what they’re saying but I’m shooting a Browning A5 so there’s gonna be differences but the biggest thing for me is in the field what it’s doing to birds on impact. There’s something there, maybe imagination, but I don’t think so. Never seen birds get hit that hard so consistently

I have used pattern master code black turkey in both 12 and 10 gauge. Patten master doesn’t offer sizes they just pick a size and market it.ivebused the originals when they first came out. • @Jeff_C45
    @Jeff_C45 Před 2 lety +1

    A lot of people saying Patternmaster is all marketing hype or whatever. I see many chokes recommended and people say patternmaster is overpriced. For me, I tested lots of chokes and PM not only had high % in pattern tests but incredible patterns, with great coverage and few gaps.
    People say the shot string is BS and can’t be tested. Go swat a cripple on the water with a PM vs a construction choke. You can literally see the difference. I went from a construction to PM and it’s either a miss or a fold. Birds get absolutely trucked. I do feel if you are a bad shot it will make you a worse shot, but good shooters will see less cripples.
    People say I drank the marketing koolaid, but on paper and on birds I haven’t found anything better.

      @@MidValleyMercenaries From a shooting pov and having changed from gas to inertia, I'd say the SBE3+Muller is giving me less felt recoil, a more true pattern, and less flip at the tip for a follow up shot. At the moment its been broken in on the Clay Comps with a shell at 1500fps. But, using the Decoy H20 Choke which is equivalent to 3/8, not much gets away. The Passing is more 5/8, and patterning with Steel, am pleased with the results. Jimmy Muller comes from an engineering background as you probably know and its worth listening to his thoughts on Ported, makes you think/query their design. Am no expert, and our Wildfowling here in the UK is very different to yours, but Mullers seem to gaining a solid reputation here over Kicks/Carlsons/Patternmaster which has been surprising.

    Patternmaster has used their “studring technology” as a marketing gimmick. It does NOT create a shorter shot string, it actually causes a LONGER string. Pattermaster is a total lie and they have no studies to prove their shotstring claim , obviously, and won’t because it will expose their lie.
    Watch you tube channel Surviving Duck Season (Joel Strickland) and how he proves patternmaster wrong with a slow-motion camera in his choke tube comparison/shotgunning series(parts 6 and 9). Also, patternmaster had the most inconsistant pattern of all. The best choke tube pattern of all the comparisons(constriction types, load types, load shot)was Muller. Muller won100% of the time. Every test. Btw, Joel also proved that ported tubes actually cause bad patterns and do not reduce recoil enough and that it was undetectable. Unlike a rifle. I did shoot patternmaster. I now shoot muller because i saw the proof and truth. No myths and heresay by other hunters repeating what they’ve heard or read on marketing packages.
