  • In April, 1975, after the Vietnam War, thousands of Vietnamese refugees immigrated to the Clarendon neighborhood in Arlington, Virginia. Its proximity to Washington, DC made Arlington an ideal location for settlement and the DC area became the third-largest destination for Vietnamese immigrants. As a result, an array of businesses known as Little Saigon arose in the Clarendon neighborhood and became a social and commercial hub for the community.
