fun fact: these are actually the animatronics used for the Rockafire Explosion band that played in a resturant called Showbiz Pizza. they had a feud with Chuck. E. Cheese and when Showbiz resturants were bought out, they did a procedure where they'd remodel and replace the original animatronics. many of them were discarded or used for spare parts, and while i don't know the context of this video, that's likely the context of what happened here. it's honestly sad seeing Rolfe (the wolf) and Fatz (the gorilla) in such bad states :(
correction after like a year: Showbiz and Chuck E. Cheese did have feuds with each other, although later merged into one singular company ('Showbiz Pizza Time'), and _then_ the procedure, known as 'Concept Unification', happened. that's what i was trying to describe here, but instead of replacing the animatronics completely, as that wouldn't have been financially viable, they actually retrofitted the original Rock-Afire into Chuck E. Cheese characters. that means they replaced the cosmetics on the original Rock-Afire mechs to be Munch's Make Believe Band. some characters in Concept Unification were never used, such as Billy Bob and Earl, who were (supposed to be anyway) scrapped and used for spare parts. the animatronics here are likely either an unsold Rock-Afire show or from a Showbiz that closed down before Concept Unification, and honestly, that's just as sad because they were still abandoned and left to rot :(

I didn't realize broken animatronics made constant noises like that! very helpful
They make those noises even when restored actually! It's normal, they're pneumatics which means they run off of compressed air; the clicking, grinding noise you hear is the valves. It probably wouldn't be as bad had they been cleaned up a little, some of the valves are probably sticking and the cylinders may be a little rough, but other than that they're normally this noisy. It's part of the charm in my opinion! :)
The reason they're so quiet in establishments it's usually due to the fact that the valve bank is kept underneath wherever these guys are bolted to muffle the ruckus.

I love animatronics everything from the original audio animatronics from the dawn of Disneyland to the special effects and movie animatronics of golden age cinema to the stars of Chuck E Cheese and Showbiz Pizza. There’s something about well maintained and abandoned animatronics that is just so intriguing and cool to me. This is really sad seeing these animatronics left to rot away like this in a small room in the dark but I’m so glad that there are restorers and collectors out there who try to give these treasures from the past the love they deserve.

Just to make things clear, these characters have nothing to do with fnaf. These are characters from the rockafire explosion from Showbiz pizza. (except for chuck) im sort of impressed that Rolfe and Fatz are still in working condition. These all just need some work and they'll look good as new!

After seeing FNAF games and lore, and knowing these animatronics are fiction is kind of scary because they are just rotting and look like they want to kill you lol.

Ya know, what’s truly scary about this is that these aren’t fictional characters. I grew up with Chuck E. Cheese, and many other children grew up with the rockafire explosion. This isn’t a video game, and these animatronics and locations have actually truly been entertaining children for decades. It’s terrifying, not because of jump scares or blood and gore, it’s a different kind of scary. It’s physiologically horrifying. It’s scary because it’s so familiar. It’s like seeing an old friend as a zombie.
Someone in a comment section once said something that summed it up better than I ever could: “the only thing scarier than the fear of the unknown... it the distortion of the familiar.”
