I'm a zerg main in plat 3. This is of course a classic build that any sc2 player who wants to get gud should be aware of. I'm a macro player so I rarely cheese or do all ins/timing attacks like this one but I tried this on the ladder this morning just for the heck of it. Bulldozed a gold terran who was going into two base BCs, killed a gold protoss going into two base voidrays, but died to a plat 12 pool zerg and a plat terran who identified the build with hellion harass and defended. Still a great beginner build, especially to learn the basics and what you emphasized at the end to not over micro and keep your production going during the fights.
I rush 13 overlord, 14 pool, 15 hatch and extractor, 1queen and 2 lings as soon as pool is done, 16 warren. 2 drones and 2 overlords and wait till warren is done while hitting those injects.... I'll be hitting your base at 4:12 with 8 roaches.... on the side note, if they are able to def, it'll be hard to comeback with the low economy! ^_^' Great guide!! Loved the build and explanation! It isn't the FASTEST, but it its the fastest/safest to roll if something goes wrong

XX x once all above is achieved do loop of larva injection -> roach spawning -> create overlord * 8 until their base has been oblitorated
care not for air units. just kill

I was diamond on terran but I wanted to play zerg since it was the superior race but I was too lazy to spread creep and constantly inject larvae. However, your videos helped me greatly and I am now a proud silver zerg!

A cute situation i ran into was 1 widow mine that damaged a roach infront of his expansion. Thanks to your lair and a close over lord, I morphed into overseer, made another macro turn, and amoved to kill the widow mine and the extra roaches roasted everything. You're OP brotha, tyttytyty :D I maybe finally be able to break outta silver and gold. glhf fam

I really like that you explained how build orders work like as far as it is everything that excludes drones I am in plat 1 and sometimes play vs gold players who I end up crushing and I show them SALT MOD and build orders they should practice I think I will recommend your videos as well

Where you can take build orders off of spawning tool and use the salt mod code they provide and import it using copy and paste and you can run through playing a build while the game tells you when to make what
I haven't played any 1v1s since Wings of Liberty (and even then I played Protoss). I recently re-installed the game and gave this build a few practice runs against AI. My very first placement match was against a plat 2 and I won with this build. Would recommend.
I just got the game and am on 3 unranked wins due to pure luck, gonna try the build order cause it seems really solid. I hate dealing with air units, had to keep making hydralisks which idk are good or not but they attack air.

About ur studio lighting. Green is not the way to go. I get it, it matches your theme. But blues will make the logos pop and some med reds will make u not look like a washed out zombie. Love the game tactics though!
i didnt know that there is that part of the game where you just crush your head into the wall as hard as it gets xD i guess ill try this just to know how it feels to spend all of the minerals :D

Could you do a breakdown on spending your resources efficiently throughout the game? Specifically zerg if possible. Is it all about injections and macro cycle?
most zerg rushes happen within 5 minutes of game. spawning pool, hatchery. then zergling rush. i dunno an zerg player that doesn't zerg rush.

Depends how early it is and what build order from your opponent. Queens on ramp/spines/wall sometimes, drone hold position micro
Hi just started playing the game , and I tried this build and normally it works fine , but I'm having a hard time against terrans that builds siege tanks , I could be leading in numbers and trying to swarm and I even notice on my graphs that even my army value is a lot higher but my army gets shredded immediately against the tanks but I can even do much damage.
Same here bro. I dove deep into this topic too. First off, no way you and I are doing "good" macro. But that's always the answer right? Lol secondly though, you really want ravagers and their Biles to knock the tanks. Use overseers to get a little close and reveal where those bastards are seiged on the high ground. Thirdly, if they're turtling, they're not expanding. Abuse the hell out of this. Take their 3rd and make a queen to start shoving creep into their natural lol. Fourth point, your absolute best bet is to catch the tanks while their moving out. This ONLY happens when you have decent or better map vision. And lastly, know that bc they're being a defensive siege tank bitch ass, this means this will NOT be a short game. But choking your enemy slowly, I promise, is just as fun as a quick beat down lol

@@knighthawk2062 I'm also a noob but I think the best bet against siege tanks is vipers, you have blinding clouds for groups of tanks or you can abduct them when they are on their own. Seems to work pretty well most of the time for me
Yeah this strat is trash. He acts like you can just build this scott free when in reality if your opponent builds seige tanks or anything that mildly counter roaches you are cooked. He says this will take you to plat when in reality it won't get you out of bronze.
@@bm8981 maybe you won't be able to attack into them but now you have a huge number of units that you can use to deny the enemy getting bases while you expand like crazy! You don't have to kill your opponent right away to win.
Hey im very new to SC2 and your guide is great! the only thing I don't understand how to do is create spores, whenever I highlight my drones it doesn't seem to be an option, I cant find it anywhere
Really? Should be in the build menu.
make sure other units beside drone are not selected,if other units are selected you can push tab. or you can shift click to deselect unwanted units. there are other ways of managing selections if you want to get into it. Did you ever get the spores on your menu consistently?
I hate that also... I started holding control button as i click one drone, it will select all of them so be carefull!!! Then, just hit the b key or click build, then a key or spore crawler. you're likely also selecting the queen or zerglings(which i put at front of expand as shown in video.) (glhf) fam btw this makes me feel dirty as heck... ;)
any advice on dealing with turtley terran with walls and tanks with this build? i do this build a lot in ZvP and ZvT and i find most my losses come from terran with tanks. sometimes thats on me for trying to force my way into there natural up a ramp with tanks waiting on me lol. But any advice on how to handle this, specifically when the terran is also 2 base all in? do i just try to get vision on map and surround as they move out? add a certain unit?
you can hit them a bit earlier, or if you scout that they are making tanks early you can just not go for the roach push and go for something else like muta
I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong but I can't get this to work in 1v1. Against the Ai it seems to work flawlessly but seems most 1v1 have too many air units and i get toasted very quickly and its GG. Its fun to try it out while i'm learning multiplayer.

Why do you send the overlord to the opponents base at the start
LMAO i laughed my ass off when he was like "what are we gonna do about air runits? where not."
I played this a lot of times and i my only problem is either lots of lings early or early voidrays with a wall on the ramp at the seacondary... sadly theres lots of protoss playing like that in low gold. but i just marked them in the map pool to not have to play on these maps :)

Yes
i sent the zerglings with burrow ability and camp them near all nearby mineral sites. then park them there until they start building bases there, then zerg rush with some roaches, zerglings and some lurkers.

thats a funny one, i did the same thing with some banelings , burrowed on the thirds mineral line, waited till they saturated then detonated, toasted almost all of them lol
How do you make itso that you can press 1,2,3 etc. for switching between unit types. I'm very new to the game and zerg is very cool. but I am struggling immensely with speed efficiency and what I need to go

Hey dumb question but im new here, I seem to only have enough minerals for overlord at the start on 0:20 but u can already build yours at 0:13, why was i significantly slower?
Are you starting it on 13 or 14? You can also get slightly more minerals by micro managing the drones but only a few seconds worth not as much as you are off.
@@HuShang I start on 13 but I've found the issue. When i play Versus Ai, i manage to start it off at 0:13. But on Versus Training (stage 3) somehow its a bit slower around 0:19 even with micro managing the drones. Appreciate the reply though!

what if they blindly build a planetary fortress in their natural wall and sits back while they build bcs and you havent figured out how to transition out of this all in?
Once you've learned the basics of the build you can use an overseer to check what they are doing when your lair finishes

I am a terran
I find it hard to win in late gold 1 and 2 because for example against terran they go tanks and battelcriser

@@andrewcallus8961 i found mutas very helpful at this level. As soon as u had your first roach push build the spire and fall back. they go full ham with their tanks in turtle mode. BC's are another story. didnt face yet but i guess with queens and spore in base you should be fine. and the mutas are amazing to make any one rage quit

I struggle so much with zerg v toss mid / late game. A toss death ball with archons and stalks and zealots just absolutely shreds everything I have. I don't know how to effectively counter archons. What do I do?

Um... I'm confused. Sieged up terran would laugh at that roach rush right? Or is there a way to solve that situation?
For tanks the best 2 options that I have found are either Ravagers or Vipers. Make sure you have vision with your overlords and drop biles or blinding clouds. If it’s sieged it’s a slow easy target for the ravagers and with vipers you can either abduct or push closer when they’re blind.
Does this work for 2v2 or group matches?
Yeah it's a pretty good opening for teams. Just make sure your teammates attack too or try not to make too many roaches and drone up some more
but how are you supposed to survive the first 4 minutes by droning when they send troopers to ur base ?

If ur playing terran the easiest counter of ur life. U have reaper to scout, zerg is defesless, so ur helions/reaper will probably kill him.
If ur playing toss, scout with adepts and harass, immortals+shield batteries and prism micro will do the trick.
In ZvZ ur usually playing pool than hatchery, so if ur playing default ZvZ, ur first speed lings will pretty much kill the guy who s skeeping tech so hard.
If ur the one who is playing this build order, no follow up. Ur playing all-in. If didnt kill ur oponent ur pretty much dead.
There is a playlist with about 10 games where I do different versions of this build and muta. I think there are a few where I dont go for the push at all :)
Tried it a few times, lost to ling or zealot rush. Seems way too weak before the roaches pop.
you need to make adjustments if they push you early. It's more of a blueprint that works most of the time than something you should rigidly follow. Join us on discord :)
@@HuShang Thank you for the reply. Fair enough, I was just following it and not scouting. Plus I was against diamond players too! I'll give it another go and maybe build some spine crawlers and gate my base with them.
@@HuShang I just went back on for my last placement... You would never believe it. Not only did I place in Gold 1, in the next game I transitioned into mass queens (never tried it before) and got platinum! I used to play Protoss back in Heart of the Swarm but only ever got to gold after hundreds of games. No BS, I'm shocked it happened. Thanks mate.

Oracle will style get quite a few kills before the queens kill it. Pros use multiple queen groups but for a beginner build spores are much easier

I don't get why 13 overlord and 16 overlord exlude the drones somewhere. It's just the current supply count where you building the overlord. Sounds like overcomplicating.
cause you cant memorize the drones for the entire build order up to 50 supply

Maybe its just me. I doubt it, but id like to feel special. The timings for zerg feel very intuitive once u get it down. Im a grinder. So i would just go against the ai over an over
But what i mean simply, is once u have both hatches. The pool finishes. U make 2 queens. Ur constantly droning. And as soon as those 2 queens finish. U make a lair and a "creep queen".
