    Love the ingenious use of hidden magnets! (Behind to wheel on the wood tower. They help to “suck” to balls into the hole and keep them from falling out during the ride) This gives the unit a very clean look and likely contributes to the speed performance.

    • @JimMeyerTheFirst
      @JimMeyerTheFirst Před rokem +1

      I believe you're mistaken. The balls stay in the wheel because the hole is drilled at an angle. You'll note that the wheel support tower blocks the balls from rolling out until they reach the desired position. The metal you see on the back of the tower is the nut securing the axle.

    • @tegra5971
      @tegra5971 Před rokem

      Yes, I think you are right! The holes seem to be drilled toward the edge to about half the depth and then toward the centre as the exit the other side. I now see how they fall toward the dented as the disk moves. Very delicate design! Love it!

    @crocket1221 there is a simple trick to getting the wires bent: you take a lenght of wire and bend it around a cylindical object, eg a pipe, a dowel or a glass in oder to make parallel curves you simply take a shorter lenght of wire for the inside and the longer piece for the outside and bend them both around the same cylinder then align them until they are exactly parallel to each other. For the end loops you bend a short piece around a dowel and solder that into place

    I must be being really stupid but I'm not sure how the angles of the holes in this wheel works.
    Normally the hole is tilted so the marble rolls in, then the hole would be tilted the other way after 180 degrees of the wheel rotating so the marble rolls out again, but in these cases the marble enters and leaves on the same side of the wheel.
    In your wheel the side the marble enters the wheel and the side the marble leaves the wheel are different.

    so how fast did it go?
    like 2~3 balls per second?
    then that would be 120~180 per min.
    and can you somehow make it faster?
    everything faster is better.
    you found any use for it yet?
