Major Sahani has created a mark for himself and distinguished himself in the North East Insurgency and launched various successful Operations. He was a paratrooper and a team Commander and has to his credit more than 50 free fall Jumps and much more.
In the Podcast, we discuss how Major Sahani got into the para special forces and his love for serving the motherland.
We talk about what is the niche of special forces and what are the important operations and tactical strengths that the special forces operators have.
We also discuss the insurgency in the North East particularly Manipur where the thick subtropical jungles of the north east pose a great challenge not just from the insurgents but from the inclement weather as well as lack of food, landslides and much more.
Major Sahani recounts one incident where they had close shave with an huge elephant in the middle of the night. So these are the challenges that is special force operators face.
Major Sahani also discusses about what is the future of warfare and the need for advanced and modern tactical gear to survive in tough terrains. Be it the cold desert of Ladakh or sands of Rajasthan or the jungles of North East.
