This song came out at the perfect time for me. I was about to graduate the 8th grade from my Catholic school. I decided to sing part of the song at graduation (all of my class, there was only 27 of us, had to give graduation speeches) after I gave my own graduation speech. It's one of my proudest moments and still brings me to tears.

They said my friend and his girlfriend got an accident. Her girlfriend died immediately after the accident however my friend died after one week in the hospital. So sad i did not expected the night before they got an accident is the last night we will be together. My friends is older than me. He treat me as his younger brother. He teased me brotherly that night. So everytime I hear this song it has a different impact on me

When I was at summer camp I befriended this kid 7 years younger than me (never quite sure how it happened since I was still a camper at the time and that's a significant age difference) and he became like a little brother to me. We only ever saw each other at the camp during the summer but he meant a lot to me and I know he felt the same about me. As he got older he remained like my younger brother but he matured to the point where he was less the little brother who follows you around all the time and instead was one of my closest friends. I haven't seen him in years sadly but the last time I did I hadn't seen him in 2 years and I went to drop off a coffee to my sister who still worked there. My buddy saw me, screamed my name and hugged me. He was 16 at the time too. That always meant a lot to me: a really good final memory of him since I never saw him again. Like I said, he was like started out like a little brother to me (too much of an age difference and he was too young when we became friends for us to truly be close friends beyond a sense of brotherhood) and grew to become one of the best friends I've ever had. I remember his mom once commented she thought we had a life-long friend in each other, we were that close.
