Im glad she added the commentary about her trim. When she cut that first part I was immediately like "DAMNNN that's over 4 inches 😭" 😅
The cutting part is my favorite. I love to see the hair go from unhealthy to clean cut and healthy, it's beautiful ❤
Absolutely!🥺
It’s so satisfying
Yes, same!
You cut that hair, I gasped! Then you brought that second section down and I could see perfectly why that was the length chosen! Brilliant Results!!!
I LOVE 4 C HAIR..ok bye!
ikkkrrrt🤣
Lol😂
I have 4c hair and hate it lol😂

Because like Shell said, some folks have PTSD from stylists that took 4+ inches when only 1-2 inches were to be trimmed. I've seen a lady silently crying after this happened. Her sister came to pick her up, saw her sister's tears & long hair gone & set it off in that salon after the stylist tried to convince them that she did the client a favor. It was a fly cut, but not what the client wanted.
OMG this is why I'm terrified to go to a stylist!😳
@@Mimi-zk8rq werd. there's no way hahaha
Some of these folk be jealous of people's hair, and cut a lot of it off just for that reason... let's be real.
@lionsdencoaching6457 out of jealousy?? Damn never heard or thought of that I hope not smh just thought the majority of stylists get scissor happy or even go further than they intended
@Ashley-og9ti That's what I always thought, too. And, I also think sometimes they may see that more needs to be cut; but they should just do what the client asks for and they'll see for themselves if more is needed.
You can also pull the hair straight out like you're cutting layers to get hairs that don't come all the way down. This way you can still get all of the split ends without unnecessarily cutting healthy hair.
👀
Beautifully done ❤
Trimming hair is necessary. I used to never ever trim my hair because I was traumatized as a child . I could never grow it past my chin.
In 2020 I stopped relaxing, braids and weaves. I trimmed my hair and it started growing! Trims are your best friend. Get all that thin hair off and the hair looks so much prettier and thicker too.
Are you saying you stopped relaxing stopped wearing braids and weaves or you stopped relaxing and only wore braids and weaves?
Her hair came out beautiful! You did a great job. Healthy hair over split ends always!! 😊
I agree 🙌🏾
I didn't have a clue what split ends were and whether they mattered or not until I was a teen 😅😅😂
even with the disclaimer the amount of hair u cut was insane 💀💀💀
Was thinking same. But I saw ends needed it at least
She cut her hair!!! Omg
I'm a 4c girlie and I know my silk presses don't last long (I also sweat from my roots) but I loveeeee Silk presses so much. And 4c hair reverts back with no damage majority of the time❤😊
try dry shampoo
Y’all keep chopping off hair for a “fad”😅😅😅 just get a sew in job and Kp your length
I love how thick and full and voluminous her natural hair is!!!!
I don’t think “trims” trigger people. I think people get trigger when y’all cut hair “cuts” a trim
What if it’s what needs to be cut?
Speaking from experience some people want a trim but need a cut. Other times it's bad stylists that don't talk to their clients 🤷🏽♀️
That’s not a trim she just wanted to do a bob on her
Yes that's a hair cut for sure!! I could care less how much hair my stylist take off. But like u said she calling that a trim when its clearly a cut
I have ptsd from doing a silk press on dehydrated hair. You definitely need to establish good hydration for weeks before using that kind of heat.
Relax y"all! She cut her hair, not her arm. The hair will grow back. You did a great job!
Well said. 😂😂😂
Isn’t it something how a good cut breathes LIFE back into the hair?!!!? This is FULLA body!!! VERY pretty!!! 💯‼️💯
I would’ve been mad about that hairstyle 😮💨
I can tell she had bad split ends the way her ends were knotted and had hairballs on the ends when blow drying. My hair was the same way. I have thick, coarse and wooly hair and I trim my hair often .
Hee hair is beautiful 😍❤️.
Yes, her hair turned out gorgeous! Shiny and bouncy. I really do need to get more silk presses!!!
We wit cha girl!!! We could tell a ‘chop chop’ was needed watching you combing through it!! You good, we see you know your stuff!
Her hair is gorgeous, the bob cut fits her face, plus it's easy to take care of.
I love how healthy and fuller it looks with a good trim. So beautiful. Thanks for sharing
You know your craft. Your explanation is really informative. Thanks! I have 4c hair. The cut is getting rid of dead ends. My hair growth is quick, so a cut grows back fast for me. Her haircut is very pretty.
Your amazing. As a fellow stylist your info is so amazing learned a lot and I’m so happy you cut her hair where you did. Watching you straightening her hair I was thinking cut that see through off and you did awsome job
lol I’m not trim triggered at all. But this was a scissor happy cut. It was a hair cut not a trip. Which is okay… but it’s a hair cut not a trim. Nothing wrong with it though
Yep, as commented by others. A cut …not a trim
The knowledge you give out is outstanding. New things are great and some were things I had the learn in my 30s 👎🏿 def needed this in high school. 😃👍🏾 Great 💜
That is one thing I never could understand …why does what I do to my hair bother you? Why do people go bat crap crazy over seeing somebody else cut THEIR hair 🤷🏽♀️
Lol because sis we lowkey jealous and want all the hair people cut off😂😂😂😂😂😭😭😭😭
I love the way you explain it.
I'm extensions free for 4 months now!
My hair is 4c and 3c.
Never thought silk press before but now I do want to know what's going on on my head babe... you said something that i said 2 weeks ago to my hubby: l have to deep cond 4x a month! Every week! Then my hair will accumulate nourishing and don't get dry anymore! I need to be persistent! And gul... I see it happening! Every week l have more defined curls and less frizz on my head!
I need to come pick up mote tips from you. This video is amazing! Thank you very much! Love

I loved it. her hair was stiff before the trim and the ends had no life. You cut a a lot but it was needed ,the aftermath gave life and bounce. And if she maintains it itll grow back in no time but healthier than before.
I really wish you were in Boston. I need you in my life
I don’t know if your still doing this but this something that can help you as a stylist when your trimming part the hair so you won’t forget about the top hair pieces because we tend to cut less hair off the ends at the top that’s a way you can manage going up in a row
Her hair came out beautiful 😊
I love the cut! The cut was definitely needed.
GOD BLESS SHELL 🌸 thank you for posting this 💜
Great video! I have 4 C hair and do my own hair...I use Aveda shampoo and conditioners which makes my hair soft...I add braids in and I also give my hair a break by wearing a twist out style or flat iron it...I love my natural hair!!
Thanks for this video!!! Definitely needed this for my girls & me!!
Beautiful work Shell. I love getting silk presses once in a while. Do you have a recommendation on frequency of silk presses? My last silk press went not so great, my stylist thought it was the leave-in conditioner I asked her to use...
I really liked her hair from the beginning!!! I’m getting older and missing my thickness. Beautiful no matter how it’s fixed!!! ❤️🔥🔥
This was very informative. Can’t wait to do my daughter’s hair like this 🤗
Beautiful work. My daughter has 4c hair. Fine strands but very dense with a tight cuticle. She wants it straightened so bad!
Thank you so much for the tips ❤
Wow this turn out so beautiful😍 I wish I knew how to trim my hair because it really needs it.
You did a great job!❤
I never leave comments but I wish you were in Iowa. This video has been so helpful as I have been struggling to grow my hair to be healthy. Will subscribe for more content! ❤❤
Great video. Thanks for all the tips
Oh my goodness your so awesome my heart dropped when you stat cutting but when you explain I understood 😂 but thanks for explaining my hair needs lots of attention and I'm one of the wash and go ladies 🤦🏾♀️ I need to take more time on my head ❤🙏🏾 thanks
I'm running to the comments to say I love that sharp line and the body that trim gave.
She slayed the styling! I like to cut off a little more too because it grows back faster and healthier, but that’s just my opinion.
You did an excellent job from start to finish🔥I’m watching this for tips when I attempt to do my own hair. I really want to go to a stylist but rn I can’t afford it😭😭😭
I had no idea that air drying was bad and damages the hair until you mentioned it ..WOW 😢 You did a great job on your client's hair btw 🧡
thank you!
That's not true. I've had natural hair all my life and always air dry. I haven't used heat since 2004. I wash n go everyday. My hair is absolutely gorgeous and healthy. I wear my hair short now, but even when it was down my back I air dried.
Exactly. Air drying on NATURAL HAIR sounds very NATURAL and non damaging to me. Black women have had long healthy hair with or without a blow dryer.
@@lolOloveOlol21 I'm happy that sistas have taken an interest in natural hair, but there is so much misinformation out there. Ppl do way too much and make it so much harder than it really is. It doesn't take all that work or product. Air drying is always better.
@@JG_SmileSOBrightYou are gonna argue with the science? Like it does straight up weakens the hair. Wet hair is hair at its weakest. To keep you hair it weakest state is not good! Especially for those with curly hair. Air drying a wash and go everyday isn’t even practical.
I think you pressed & trimmed her hair beautiful. I got my hair pressed and curled every 2 weeks for years. It was done with the Marcells. My stylist would make that curling iron talk. 😂😅 I never got heat damage.
I used to flat iron and curl my hair daily and had hairdressers use heat on a regular and never had heat damage. I don’t even remember using a heat protector either. These new hot tools must’ve been made in hell. 🤣🤣😩
@@phoebeandem8015 made in hell. I’m screaming 🤣✌🏽
@@mikhailcymone4042 😂😂😂 cuz why tho?
GREAT JOB!!! THANKS FOR THE TIPS!!!
Beautifully Done
Thank you sis. Very very helpful info.
Lol. That is a real feeling. Black hairdressers see my length and go scissors happy. 😢 Thanks for explaining that!
Looks so good 😢😍
Yeah, I needed that disclosure because my heart dropped lol. Thank you for the tips. My hair is very similar to hers. Last time I had my mom do my trim, I swore that she hated me. Like she was really out to get me with how much she cut off 😅
Beautiful!
Loved it I wished I could do my hair like that ❤❤
Muito lindo este corte. Parabéns!
Beautifully done. A lot of people need help with coarse hair. Very inspiring. How much does that cost?
U are doing a great. That is a beautiful cut.
I’m excited to see real 4C silk press cos mine last a day 😂😂😂😂
Healthy hair is better than length. trimming her helps growth great job
I love, love, the trim/cut!!! You know what is best. Only if I could get to you. Thanks!
I was wondering what blow dryer and flat iron you used .The hair turned out gorgeous
Great video! I just used a pressing comb on my hair but has so many knots, tangles.
You do an absolutely amazing job..what temperature is the flat iron on?
Hi. Love the video. For us that are on a strict budget or have to be frugile with our money, what are some products you can suggest for us to buy at our local stores to maintain our kids or our own hair at home especially for 4c texture? Including shampoos, deep conditioner, hair appliances etc.
You were very patient with her hair and no explanation! Very Beautiful!🎉🎉❤🎉🎉❤
You only cut a few inches! Excellent job!!❤
Gurl you be doing it!!! What city are you in?
Love her cut !! You did amazing !! Wish you can cut mine lol
This was 🔥🔥
Can you do a video on how you wrap your hair at night for a silk press ?
Beautiful job
Wonderful job learning a lot watching you.where can I find that red tail comb
What oils should we not use if we want a good deep conditioning treatment?
I know it was needed, I know hair will grow back, I was still triggered, so glad for your disclaimer, why are we like this 😩😩😅
That’s a really huge trim
That’s not trimming that’s cutting
girlllllllllll lmaooooooooooooo thats a chop not a trim
Hi, am interested in knowing the electric comb you used before the Silk press
You did a great job!😅
Wow. Beautiful
My silk press lasted 2 hours because i live in the Caribbean plus i sweat like crazy😅 but i love watching the vidz tho❤
WHY ARE YOU CUTTING ABOVE THE FINGERS?????
That's what I was thinking... There's a difference between cut and trim.... As I am a stylist I have to make sure I give them what's needed... If I see they need a trim that's what it's going to be....
why are u yelling at something she didn’t do, did u get a license for this or no…? oh okay
...Listen to the commentary
Very cute!!
Beautiful! What temp do you use?
Great job
Love it beautiful
Beautiful and healthy and bouncy
Even in Houston heat up 103 degrees 😮
What is the blow dryer and attachment in the beginning. I'm not really a fan of the silk press, it's way too much work for me. But I would love to pull out my hair with heat from time to time and do fun stuff with it. I have corse 4C hair that is hard to condition.
Is it possible to get hair back to health and moisturize while putting heat it or is it better to moisture train hair before putting heat to it frequently?
I understand the maintenance part about deep conditioning and steaming but not during the duration of the silk press so what do you do while its in to maintain and keep it healthy?
Thank you love
Beautiful
I need you in Texas. I’m tired of wearing ponytails and braids. 😊
what is the thing u used at the beginning of the video when u were straightens her hair?
Thank you for all this
needed information 🫶🏽
Not the PtSD from “ima bump the ends” 😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣💀💀
I have her same hair texture
