    They took over half a decade to build a queue line for an Animal Kingdom attraction (without an attraction attached) in EPCOT’s future world.

  • @GQMofo
    @GQMofo Před 11 měsíci +100

    I ain't gonna lie, it looks like something that should've been in Animal Kingdom. The theming would've matched perfectly on the Asian side of Animal Kingdom since the Samoan/Tongan islands are closer to Asia than the U.S. It seems out of place in the part of EPCOT that has a theming about the future. It's basically a tropical island in the middle of a futuristic Plaza. Other than that, it's a cool walk through, especially during the hot days. It could be better but at the same time, it could be worse. The placement of this is my only biggest gripe. Water effects are amazing and fit the Moana theming though. 😊

      I agree with you there. But what is really out of place is Cosmic Rewind. That really needs to be over in Hollywood Studios, not EPCOT.

    Everything new in the parks doesn't have to be an E-ticket attraction, but this comes off as an overly elaborate splash pad. The best part is the background music. After years of construction and millions of dollars spent, we're just seeing the same water leaping effects used outside Journey Into Imagination. Shame on Imagineering.

    The music is cool, but it is WAAAYYY too LOUD. It takes away from the serenity of the sound of the water. I also think the piped-in bird noises are unrealistically too much. They need to soften the music and reduce the birds. The focus should be on the water not the music and the birds. What happens is that it looks and sounds like the entrance to a Disney Resort.

    As someone who walked through this attraction today, it does fit the area in a way. Moana is based around Islander culture and New Zealand, which happens to be next to Australia (Nemo), and is inside of the land called World Nature, a nice combination of the land and the seas. For those who think that it looks boring or plain, that's because it isn't necessarily for you. Small children don't have a lot of entertainment in Epcot other than the seas area and a small playground behind connections, so this gives them a place to play, as well as being a nice chill place off of the main path for people to wander round if they need a break from the crowds and world showcase areas. I agree that Epcot needs more to do, but that kind of stuff would be good for the world showcase side of the park. This is a nice chill spot for families to go. My only nitpick would be that they keep hinting towards a moana area that would replace Dinoland, and in that case, it seems a bit excessive to have that much moana in the parks.

    It's nice that it's educational, feels very classic-Epcot in that aspect. Could’ve been a lot worse. It's not the worst thing Imagineering has cooked up, it's not the best, it's just pretty harmless. I don't remember what used to be in this area of Epcot, so it's no loss to me. The parks need more attractions that aren’t rides so I think it’s okay.
    I just hope this is the extent of what they do with shoehorning this IP into places, I'm not a huge fan of replacing all of Dinoland USA at Animal Kingdom with Moana, only because it doesn't fit the theme of the park. Same goes for Zootopia- that's a movie about human problems, it's only "animal" on the surface.

    I dont hate it, but its definitely out of place. Also it presents itself as an elaborate queing area similar to peter pan, haunted mansion, or BTMRR. I also don't like how almost every single person in this video had a cell phone in hand.

    Almost no hype was from Disney. They of course mentioned it and offered it but news outlets cover it and build extra hype themselves because they need clicks. Truth is that there just isnt much to look forward to in news so this gets unnecessary ridicule for being hyped.

And I found the walkthrough attractions for the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail and the Maharajah Jungle Trek at Animal Kingdom, along with the Villains Grove at Disney's California Adventure more interesting to experience.

    This is pretty and small children love to play with water. The parents will enjoy a space for the kids to explore and for everyone to cool off on hot days. Other than that, they spent an awful lot of time and money for an experience that will be one and done for most adults.
