Skar King is more smaller, thinner and lighter, this helps him to be faster than Kong, but at the cost of his brute strength, we saw in this movie whenever he is about to lose a fight he resorts to backing up Shimu and his army of monkeys. Kong would have won the first fight if Skar hadn't called Shimu.
I like how Skar fought like he knew Capoeira lmao; almost dance-like moves of agility with his cartwheels, flips, and evasive methods. Very cool and unique style when mixed with a whip weapon.

And also the fact that kong literally threw him away from a strangle position that heavily favours scar king and got immediately ragdolled after that, the novel makes what we see here even more apparent, that kong wouldâve killed scar king if he didnât have shimo.
Long range vs. close combat. Kong definitely has the advantage when it comes to fighting up close. But since he has no long range attacks like Godzilla he has to rely on his agility and the axe to help fight opponents with long range attacks.

Here is the exact quote: âKong wasted no time. He grabbed the red ape again, picked him back up and threw him on his face. Red ape rolled back up, but Kong saw he was hurt. Other apes behind him started forward to help him, but the red ape gestured for them to stop. He stood back, not continuing the attack. Some of the other apes started pounding the floor again. This time Kong thought it was for him. He pounded his chest and roared his dominance. Red ape was fast and tricky surprising. But kong understood him now. If the fight resumed, he would kill the other titan. Red Ape knew that."

I think they miss a huge opportunties ( writer) to give skar king an elemental power that channel through his weapon ( like ice whip) similar to kong nuclear battle axe and it would explain why skar king eyes are so blue.
