    Excellent presentation! You highlighted the real strengths of the instrument (piano, rhodes and synth section). I also agree this is one of the best keyboard actions that works for both pianos and organ. Most people probably think this is just a Vox clone, it’s a great all around gigging keyboard.

    As basically a guitar player and having had an old VOX Grand Prix, but I also had a old Jaugar! Those are gone but I stumbled this clip where I hadn't heard that VOX was back to doing keyboards. This Continental is exceptinally good sounding. Thanks for the video!!!!!!

    This shouldn't be called a Vox Continental, it should be called a Vox Stage Keyboard.

    I've owned my Vox Continental 73 for several years now; I'm awaiting delivery of a new 61 key where I'll be adding a bottom manual (61-key MIDI controller).
    The stand is great too. Too bad Vox doesn't offer an add-on to the stand to add a lower manual, going to have to use a pedestal stand until I can see if I can add the lower manual to the Vox stand.
    Cheers!

    Another update very Useful will Be, if The control button for the function of LED stripes can be stored on patch, so whan use the Hammond you have the Drawbars and if you jump on a synth you have the synth control, cause the keyboard don't have the modulation wheels it will be very usefull

    Doesn't sound a bit like a vintage Continental or a Jaguar. Why should I buy this? What does this do better that a Nord or a Hammond? Behringer should clone the old Continental. I bet they will.

    • @officialWWM
      @officialWWM Před 4 lety +2

      Brian Coyne it does if you select the Continental sound! It's also half the cost of a Nord and comes with a stand and Wah/expression pedal!

    • @tehee-
      @tehee- Před 2 lety +1

      As I own this keyboard, I have to say, it is an excellent board for someone who wants the Nord experience on a realistic budget. It’s got a higher quality keybed and a simpler interface. Best electric pianos I’ve ever played on a keyboard. I’d say it outperforms Nord by a long way with that. The acoustic pianos deserve an update to remove some of the low-res artifacting they have. I have no clue why the small grand piano in the upright option (8) sounds better than most of the provided grands in their own category. A tack piano would also be a nice addition in the next update.
      This is a quality piece of kit in the sub-$2k category. I bought it because of the mid-century inspired design which makes it extremely modular. I’m sick of not being as good as the bloke who demonstrated it? I can disassemble it in ten minutes and neatly store it in the closet. The Vox is an excellent choice even though it has minimal quirks that I think can be overlooked. I wouldn’t tour with the included stand, but I do have a spare stand from the music store. They just had an extra to send me, so I certainly can gig with one if I wanted. It just disassembles a bit too much, in too many pieces with risking scratching the chrome.

    talks at length about how he feels at home with the action while playing a rhodes patch.... starts playing a piano layered with strings... I was all ready to hear him rip a short rhodes part. Not a jab at Toby. That dude is a monster.

    @andyward8062 Před 3 lety

    Yeah, well, don't take this on the road. Not built to be moved around. Nothing but, problems. Maybe I got a lemon. Leave in the studio and it's the best Hammond, Rhodes, Wurly and strings. Just know that the drawbar slide system, isn't like "grabbing a handful of drawbars. "The acoustic pianos leave a lot to be desired. Compact organs are close, however be forewarned, they are very noisy. So good luck if you purchase one for road work. They didn't produce any spare parts for it. I waited 13 weeks for a part that was promised in 5 business days.

    Looks nothing like a VOX Continental. No reverse color keys?!!? No Z stand?!?! No actual drawbars?!?!? Looks like a Nord. All the demo videos I've seen so far focus more on everything except the Vox organ sound, mentioning it only in passing. Serious fail. Ok, it sounds good in the videos, but they should have made it more like the original in appearance, and feel.

      Couldn't agree more. If you're someone like myself who was brought up listening to the sound of the 60s & early 70s, (The Doors - Any psychedelic group around 1967/8) we're now all of age where we can actually afford to BUY these Expensive keyboards. Why come close but not go all the way in terms of making it as close to an ACTUAL Vox as possible? I'm guessing either it was purely a marketing decision or they just want to use the Vox name, or it was (again) a marketing decision, just NOT a marketing decision done with much research at all. Maybe the next version of it will include these things - - but ALL these decisions when made by a group of businessmen, are done by Marketing Departments, and I've always felt that these guys are NOT practicing musicians. Oh well!

    • @tehee-
      @tehee- Před 2 lety

      I am not an organ player, I am more of a piano centric player but I own this keyboard. To me, the Continental organ sounds are good, but outside of the genre and era the Connie was used on, I don’t see much more uses for the organ. The Farfisa sounds to me are more versatile and have more of that ‘compact organ’ feel everyone expects from an analog Vox Continental. The Nitube valve drive is a great thing for the organs and electric pianos. Really makes them sound legit and adds the ‘analog’ feel.

I don't expect you to say "Wow, this emulation sounds like crap!" Why don't you just play it, note by note, sound by sound, I'm a grown-up, trust me to make my own decisions as to whether I think it sounds good. I'M going to be the one plunking down my $2,000 - NOT YOU!
