  • Hi - welcome to this weeks mass making workshop. This week, we are doing some serious scrap busting and using up scraps to make the paper tabs that I did a tutorial on a couple of weeks ago. Hope you manage to craft along, and get some serious mass making done with me during these workshops which I am hoping to upload every Tuesday. Many thanks for watching, and I would really love it if you could give this video a like and subscribe to my channel, Tinax

Hi Tina, so enjoyed making the tabs -- I now have 34 ready to decorate ... thank you!! BTW, I loved the story of the Barbie clothes ... my daughter has teenagers of her own now, but when she was young and played Barbies, those Barbie clothes and TINY little shoes, purses, combs, brushes, etc etc were a constant issue ... we either were stepping on them barefoot, vacuuingd them up by mistake or the dog was swallowing them. I was so happy when she outgrew Barbies!!! LOL! Cheers to you and your family. Karen

We had thunderstorms and rain both evenings but the days were red hot this weekend. Odd weather. We are a walk to our beach on the Wirral but as I am still shielding the hot weather crowds mean that we only go down in the evening. No social distancing and no loos so....
Re Barbie. Have you watched The Great British Sewing Bee? They have to measure. I don’t measure much either!!
I love these tabs. I will have to make some. I think mass making is such a great idea and I’m starting to incorporate it into my crafting. Thank you for being here 🥰

I'm glad that you have a crafty sister. I also would take kits to fussy cut when I watch tv at my mother's house. I bought a cricket from a coworker over 6 years ago and I only have used it two times. I paid 30 dollars and she gave me extra mats, a carrying bag, and 8 cartridges. It only cuts and doesn't print. Love the tabs. You could use your tiny script stamp on these. Still no thrift stores for me but I have my ink! Stay safe❤❤❤

How clever to mark the punch. I never would have thought about that. I have a frame punch that's about 2" and it makes adorable tags. I also made teeny tiny tags on watercolor paper that are birds. I used watercolor pencils to color them. Very fiddley but I like them for a special journal I'm making

If you will just take a safety pin and pin it to the elastic at the end. Then start threading the pin through the band. Pushing the pin through as you are pushing the material. Hold the pin that is in the waist band and pull the material which will run the elastic through the waist band. Hope that is clear enough. It is harder to type than it is to do lol.

Finished your video and loved hearing you tell about making Barbie doll clothes with your daughter. When I was about 5 or 6 my grandmother sent me a whole box of clothes she made for my Barbie. To this day I have the memory of a bright, yellow coat that was in the box. It was fuzzy and I loved it. I’m 66 now but that is still a sweet memory of my grandmother. Your time with your daughter will be the same for her one day. Wish I still had those clothes.

  • @lindahurlock-sewoneofakind6155

Hi Tina, love the tabs. Your Daughter will always remember that dress and the time you spent together making it, which is so awesome. Wonderful memories. I have to say, you have brought back another memory for me when you told about your nephew stamping on your sisters craft project...I have 6 children and I used to make all of their cloths. I drilled it into there heads about never touching my sewing things, especially my fabric scissors. I am so lucky, because they did listen and never touched any my sewing things.

Hello Tina! Thank you for another great visit. Love to hear about you and your family. It reminds me of when my children were young and even my grandchildren. Such good times going to the beach, crafting and making Barbie clothes. When my daughter was quite young she liked making dresses for Barbie with her old one of a kind socks. Just cut off the foot and then snip two little holes a half inch or so on the top side for arm holes. It makes a sheath style dress with a rather large neck hole but decently covers the doll! Hugs and blessings, 🤗❤️🇨🇦

Friendly reminder ... When punches seem stiff, clean them up and try cutting some aluminum foil a few times to get the edges shined up and cutting a bit better. It has been a while since I've heard people reminding each other of this old tool care tip. Hope it helps.

I printed your dominoes, then when I came to use it.... they 'went', so I printed some more! LO and behold the originals 'came back'.... so I made tags out of them! the smaller ones make such cute tags, great for the mini journals I make. Thanks for taking the time to make and upload for us to enjoy. x

Some of my favorite Barbie clothes were made with socks! I used the cuff for dresses, skirts & tops; two tiny holes for armholes and I even had a variety of hats made from the toes. Sounds like you and your daughter had an unforgettable time. Thanks for the stories and the tab tutorial.

Love how these are made and that it gives us the chance to coordinate the tabs with the journal pages we are making. Loved your stories today. Your daughter will love that dress because she made it with her mom. That’s a precious thing! They have opened our restaurants but with many changes but not the stores. But the US is having a flare up of cases so I’m not rushing out anywhere! Take care Tina and stay cautious and well.

I am so glad I caught this episode. I deerly love your stories. I can tell you, a Cricut does Not print and cut. Only cuts. Also, chances are you may very well wind up with the Cricut yourself or if you live close enough to your sis then you will probably get to use it as much as she does. Also this can be a marvelous time for you two to get to bond over it and who knows, she may just tell you to keep it at your house especially if you’re willing to teach her and she can use it when she needs to. It can be a good thing and you can still get your wish. I am a middle girl too with a younger and older sister so this was neat to find out about you as well. Finally, I could completely relate with your feelings about your daughter sewing. I couldn’t help but laugh but at that age I can completely understand you having to tell her to stop cutting. Maybe you could incorporate the small pieces of material into your snippet rolls or other embellishments so they’re not a loss? And perhaps help to serve as a memory in your journal for the day y’all did have a sewing day. 😎 just a suggestion. So glad you are still taking precautions these days. I wish a few more people here in the states would too. I just keep faith that if I continue to do my part then maybe it will pay off in good Karma for me and my family somehow? 🤷🏻‍♀️😬Take care and be safe and well. Tfs.
