Happens more often to female cops than you might think. Most male cops whose guns are stolen are in either the drawer at home or the little cheap lockbox in their personal vehicle when stolen. Female cops have their guns take from them at a higher rate than even that. If it wasn't so dangerous and insane, it would be hilarious how terrible the vast majority of them are.

Same goes to magic and hypnosis. They are the art to directing your attention in something they want you to focus. The magician made that police office to focus so much on the ball to the point of forgetting about the rest, whcih allowed him to take advantage of that.
Attention is the second biggest power known to man, the first being collective attentive. With collective attention you can even create wings. Animals that evolved to fly sis that throughout milleniums of their species focusing in wanting/needing to fly. They focused their will and attention so much that through time they developed wings. Thats real magic

My Father (RIP) was stationed (U.S.ARMY) in Germany after the war.
Once at morning formation they had a soldier show up that was a professional pick pocket.
He'd been caught and offered a chance: teach soldiers how to protect themselves from thieves, or spend his time in Leavenworth. He chose teaching.
He had 10 guys come and line up facing the troops.
Then he told them he would lift one of their wallets.
One by one he stood in front of them, introduced himself, shook their hand, asked them a few personal questions ( where're from, what's your job, etc ). Right down the line.
Then walked behind them and placed both hands on their shoulders as he asked another question or two.
Then back to the front and asked the 1st guy what time it was, guy was surprised to find his watch gone, shocked when he was asked " Is This it ?" as it was handed back.
Second guy he asked for a pen, guy reached for his only to discover it gone. He gave it back.
Third guy was missing his tie, forth his belt, fifth his ring, and on and on.
No one felt when he removed items from them.
Oh, then he reminded them that he said he was going to take a wallet, asked them who's wallet he had
taken. Each thought it wasn't them and everyone looked at everyone else. He walked up to the guy and handed back his wallet.
Then he explained and demonstrated how he was able to do this, using questions as misdirection and where to best carry a wallet, etc.
My Father was / is the smartest man i've ever known, not much impressed him. He was impressed... ☆
That's why when I travel outside the USA, to Europe & Asia, I avoided everyone. Young, old, males, females, kids. I'm just passing thru the country. There is no reason for me to interact with anyone. No matter how skill you are, can't steal from me if you have NOT touch me.
