Nope. The singer ruins it for me. The band sound great, the arrangements are great, but the singer makes no attempt to sound like Donald. If you're going to form a tribute band you would find a singer that sounds like the one in the band. This guy sounds like a club singer and my guess is that he started the band.
You’ve obviously never seen the band live. Why would anyone try to sound like DF? . There’s only one of him. Steve has a good voice, fronts the band fantastically well and plays top class rhythm and lead guitar. There could be no Nearly Dan without him. You’re entitled to your opinion as someone who has seen Steve and the band deliver on so many occasions I beg to differ.
Going from this snippet, I have to agree with you. Musicianship is excellent, but the singer is weak. Was thinking going to see them at the Jazz Café, but have been put off by this.
If you have never got along to one of their gigs do yourself a favour and look them up. Brilliant in their own right.
My favourite live band I saw them at the Robin2 Bilston Wolverhampton a few times. Brilliant.

Seen live at Jazz Cafe in London twice and earlier this in Bury St. Edmunds. They sound much better when you are the audience, honest! Amazing.

Don’t judge the band & or the singer by this amateur recording . You have to see them live to appreciate how great they are
