State of emergency 1 is everything I like about the early 2000's - arcade gameplay with big blocky graphics and full of colour State of emergency 2 is everything I hate about the mid - late 2000's - devoid of colour, dark and emphasis on gritty realism.
This sequel felt like a missed opportunity. Rather than go with a dark and gritty aesthetic, I feel like they should've gone a bit more over-the-top, like with Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice and Saints Row 2, taking a fun idea and improve upon what worked while adding new features to stand out.
+Cthulhu for America And they were much better games than this... Gears of War being a better cover-based shooter. And Saints Row being a better gangster game.
I just stumbled upon this game on ebay and my mind was blown. I thought I knew the PS2 library like the back of my hand. In my 15 years of selling video games I have never seen this game before until now. Very rare!
I tried looking up information on this game a couple of years ago, and found almost no reviews and only a couple of videos. I'm surprised people actually voted for you to review this, given how obscure it is.
Yeah I actually have this game by the way, and I spent almost 4 hours trying to find one of the mystery objectives and I found nothing... I couldn't even find the one in the first mission!
Blondeguygamer Well, it's very simple actually, throughout the game in each chapter there are these small red spinning Corporation logos that you have to shoot and once you do, you'll hear a small guitar solo playing, letting you know that you've found the mystery objective. I have spent hours trying to look for these stupid things and the developers hid these things too well, like, in chapter 8, it took me fifteen hours to look for the stupid Corporation logo and because the chapter takes place in such a huge map, it could take some people possibly years just to find it, at least without any help of the internet, even though no ones posted any guides on how to accomplish the mystery objectives. I did unlock Battle mode by the way, and I would love to tell you what it is, but sadly I only have one PS2 controller and State of Emergency 2 doesn't accept the use of PS1 controllers, which is what all other games on the PS2 did. Until I can get a second PS2 controller, Battle mode still remains a mystery...
Great review I liked that you actually went through the full story and explained what was going on instead of just showing random clips. I was planning on buying this game and now I am not lol
I remember getting State of Emergency 1 around the time it was released and me and my brother used to have a blast with it! The quest mode leaved allot to be desired, but the minute to minute action was satisfying. We got really excited one time when State of Emergency 2 showed up at our local Family video (Remember rental stores?) and we rented it, expecting something much more than what we got. I think stripping the gameplay back to being a generic shooter was already bad enough, but it lacked the aesthetics and charm of the first aswell. It took a fast paced action game and turned it into a slow paced and boring one. We fucking hated it lmao.
I already said in the video it simply did not work for me. I even just recently tried again in case I was imputing the code wrong back then and it still does not work. Unless I'm doing it in the wrong spot, which I tried in several menu and pause screens to no avail, and if you got it to work instead of just listing what every cheat code site I looked up before said it is, then tell me, otherwise it's not happening.

I know I'm kinda late but props for playing the Timesplitters 2 Soundtrack from the Neo Tokyo mission! One of the most memorable missions in this game.
The same way Ratchet and Clank was remastered on ps4 , is what Rockstar should do with this game. In it , it should allow you to use melee weapons , and have that free roam ability. They should also do a wanted level with corporation stars , if you reach a big star , the entire corporation will be on you. And they need to put stage select and character select. And allow you drive both civilian and corporation vehicles. Other than that this series needs another chance. It should be on ps vita.
i loved both games and spent a ton of time playing the multiplayer mode with my brother and sister, certainly hasnt held up well over the years, but still a great one for my nostalgia

I liked Narc. As a black teenage boy that actually knew junkies, being they roamed the neighborhood. I could relate, robbing dealers and doing their dope. What? Give me another Narc game!

No, though the developers never put the aftermath of the Brimstone Bomb's detonation I think it's safe to say they're all alive. When Freak told McNeil about the Brimstone Bomb and how it's a nuclear warhead, McNeil told the others to retreat at a safe distance (judging by the explosion of the Brimstone I say at the Worker Zone). As McNeil was retrieving the bomb, they're obviously at a safe distance. Once McNeil deployed the Brimstone Bomb, he flew away as quickly as he could. If you look real closely, after the Brimstone Bomb detonates, you could see McNeil flying away, thus showing both him and everyone else are all alive, except for those Corporation goons on the island.

I want to find things about this game more than you think. There are also action replay codes on google now and they might work. Hum why not try the saves from GameFAQs..? But I barely played my SOE2 looool. Use the trusty memory card exploit, the FMCB softmod, use flash/USB drive to psupaste save into memory card, all saves you should change into PSU format for convenience sake
I rather enjoyed the first one. It was a arcade shooter that reminded me of the wacky ness of like Crazy taxi but with guns. I always played and see how long I can last or how much damage I can cause.

Xenoblade Chronicles? Well I only bought a Wii so I could play it, and it was AMAZING, graphically speaking its not the strongest contender next to 360 and ps3, but they worked with what they had and made an impressive and massive game with combat that reminds me of FF12(personal fav) a wonderful story, and just all around one of the best damn rpgs in years. Then I bought a Wii-U just because of Xenoblade Chronicles X..... Bland main protag.... NO worth while supporting characters(I do like Mustache man though) horrendous soundtrack.... "uh, yea, uh, yea, uh, yea"(like seriously what the fuck?) and the fucking gameplay..... tell me what is the point in locking you out of main quests until certain levels and even doing side quests that I DONT CARE ABOUT!!!! Lets not forget that bullshit horrendous story. The game IS that bad...... Fuck X.....
I think it goes without saying that X is still a million times better than State of Emergency 2 and other legitimately bad games I did videos on. Even if you find it the weakest Xeno game, don't forget what constitutes an actual bad game and not just from the standards you have compared to other games in the series. I actually don't like Saga because of the extremely slow pace, but I know other people do still like it for what it was and the same can be said for me and others towards X despite those complaints.
Considering this video came out after Konami jumped the shark when back up to it & shot it in the guts. All I can think of when MGS music plays is #FucKonami Also I think this game taking most of the stuff that made it stand out from games like it at the time & becoming a generic 3rd person shooter background wise possibly contributed to the poor sales IMO.
I meant to say Fight, but I guess I mixed up game series and said Fantasy instead. I do try and catch those mistakes in my voice-overs, I actually did redo a few other takes of lines due to mispronunciations and technical hiccups, but every now and then something like that still manages to slip through. Although I do find the idea of a Final Fantasy Streetwise pretty funny now.

True, they were 360 exclusive (though the SR sequels were multiplatform afterwards), but they were a lot more fun and not as cumbersome.
