It takes 5 years to fully train an Air Traffic Controller. They’ve been overworked for years.
Schedule less flights, then they won't be overworked. Flying is not necessary. Humans traveled for millions of years without planes. Can do without them again.
They know what they signed up for.

I remember the Columbine event as clearly as 9/11.
I remember the places I was and the people I was with for both events down to ridiculously precise details.
I immediately knew 9/11 was a very bad omen of things to come.
Never in a million years would I have guessed that Columbine was the beginning of the new normal.

Wow, I got to sit in the pilot's chair in a 747 once. But, I was 12, it was 1978, and we were on the ground. The pilot made me go back to my seat before takeoff.

The change to 12 hours off before starting a midnight shift for air traffic controllers will blow up scheduling for a lot of ATC facilities.

The measures to ease the work load of Controllers - is 40 years late. It's just a miracle and the dedication of the people working that job that we haven't had the disaster - that we sooner or later we will have - if they don't do something about this.
The Controllers under Reagan - went on strike to try and force the issue - and Reagan fired them all.

We need to be training A.I. people are overwhelmed with amounts of planes . The past was crazy too but seeing how much travel is out there and the challenges. It is highly stressful I don’t know how anyone would want to do that for a job.
I don't fly, but I definitely wouldn't if AI was in charge. Fake pix, fake safety. HAL and C-3pio running things? I don't think so.
In the past airliners did not have TCAS (Terminal collision avoidance system) built into the planes. Today the aircraft itself can take control away from the pilot to avoid a collision, actually communicating with the other aircraft to make it go flawlessly.
I had so much stress at work that I quit without looking back. I’m collecting SS now anyway.
