To be honest, it isn't that bad, considering the amount of rain that has come down in the UK. At Felixstowe we've had 305mm of rain in the last 3 months, had the course closed like never before and many times 5 or 6 holes closed off due to being waterlogged. At £17.50 a round, it is a bargain for anyone wanting to play golf on a budget and would like to see the course in the summer if they let you back after this video title 😂

Bit harsh to judge the course in Jan and we have had so much rain when most other courses are closed. I’ve played there and it’s a cheap round with great staff so can’t complain.

I think it depends how you look at it , if you’re just starting golf and just want to get out for not much money then it’ll do the job.
Obviously it has its flaws but for less than a quid hole you really can’t complain

Tbh…there is a massive need for clubs like this…I started playing golf at Beckenham Place Park which was run by Lewisham Council…most intimidating tee shot in golf…50 fellas laughing when you skanked it…sadly no longer a course but shouldn’t dismiss breeding grounds for youngsters etc getting into the game….from what I’m seeing most courses are suffering at the mo…great to be living in Portugal 🇵🇹 😎

The Notleys will always be the best course to me 😢. £50 a year for a junior membership. I’m pretty sure by now each round is costing less then £1

Very harsh to do a review when the course had lying water and reviews from 2019 & 2020, the latter at the start of the pandemic possibly? As some have said, for those on a low income or fixed budget and want to play the game, this course fits the bill. You Tube golfers are generally privileged enough to play on better, more mature course where green fees are more expensive and that has to be remembered. On a final note, foul language regardless of context is not what’s needed on videos such as this and I couldn’t see what audiences this video was supposed to be for; was it supposed to be informative or was it a ‘lad’s video’ having a laugh on a course clearly not fit for play and basically ‘taking the p**s’ in some excerpts. I watched the whole video, some parts were good but generally, my feeling was what did I actually learn from it, was it worth doing in those conditions and did the video give a fair assessment, I would say not. I have also checked the course website out; google reviews 4.2/5 and recent reviews are favourable as are green fees so I think, in hindsight, it would have been fair to the course owners to remark on this in the video and, of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinions.
Few points my friend: A) as I stated in the video (that you watched all of) I know we are very lucky to play some beautiful golf courses and we do not take that for granted, we have also worked extremely hard to earn that privilege, just because we have a CZcams channel that doesn’t mean everything is handed to us on a plate. B) We didn’t cherry pick any reviews, these are genuine reviews from people who have played the course. C) If the course isn’t fit for play then it shouldn’t be open. D) Absolutely people getting into the game of golf or people on a lower budget could come and play this course and enjoy their rounds as their criteria of what makes a golf course would be less than that of a seasoned golfer… that doesn’t take away the fact that the golf course is not a good one. E) Yes I did take the piss in some aspects of the video because some aspects were laughable, we are not good monthly giving a written review of the course, we are The Golf Supply and our genuine audience knows what we are about and our intentions are always to entertain. And finally F) if you don’t like the occasional swear word that an adult would use, then we suggest you probably shouldn’t watch anymore of our content as you’ll be easily offended by us being ourselves.
You wasn’t supposed to learn anything from this video. We are not an educational page, we are a golf channel who try to make entertaining videos for our followers.
@@thegolfsupply appreciate the feedback thanks, wasn’t questioning how hard you have worked to be able to play the courses that you do, the comments you will agree are on this course only and there are more views out there more recent than 2020 and it would have been fair to have a balance. As I said, everyone entitled to their opinions, I generally enjoy your videos but this one IMO didn’t reach your usual higher standards. Keep up the good work and happy new year!

Bit of a disrespectful title. You’ve gone out on 31st December and complained about how wet it is. What do you expect? Most of Essex golf courses were flooded this week. If they were asking for double price then I’d get the title, but for £1 a hole, come on?!
Ok dude, guessing you’re a member? So let’s look past the fact the course was underwater… how about the rubbish piles on the course? The carpet running through the fairways? The lack of any definition between rough and fairway? The fact the course REMAINED OPEN? Or we just gonna focus on the fact the course was underwater and covered in mud (which would not be the case with every other course in Essex because they would close)
@@thegolfsupply I appreciate what you’re saying and I don’t disagree with some of the comments about improvement. I also get the benefits of a click bait title, but just felt it was a bit extreme for the actual weather conditions and value of the course. If they did invest more into the care of it then it would improve but the price would increase for members.

Great course this, the guys have done a fantastic job keeping this going through a very wet winter and also making sure the members are benefiting by being able to play and get value for their memberships. This is a proper golfers course and always represents a decent challenge, you won't get bored playing this course like you would playing a flat course every week. £17.50 represents very good value for money, try buying a couple of pints at a premier League football stadium and then see if you think that represents value for money

I think its worth it if it was dryer but more importantly I think its a good place for people new to golf to go to. I appreciate we all start somewhere and I'm bang average at best but I'm sick of people who have swung a club for a week taking on tough courses prematurely.

No more doing anything tired, click the watch and kip til your well slept. 18 holes would take about 20 minutes. Take your shot, click, unclick at the ball. Means I could get in 72 holes in before work in summer 😂😂

The layout actually didn't look too bad...but yeah, course maintenance is difficult when it's done nothing but piss down since October.

Par first hole nothing said but second hole you was not warmed up bogey😂 if some off your shits shots had been better you would have finished 3/4 under even in the rain
It’s because the first hole is really just a long par 4 so I got away with it 😂. 2nd hole is actually a hard par 3 tbf irrelevant of the condition. Tiny green and almost 200 yards up the hill!

Played this course last summer. Can say there is never a difference between rough and fairway. Greens were long so at least you had them cut. Was charged £20 on a Saturday morning and still felt robbed 😂
