Miss the days of River Phoenix, Siskel and Ebert, and local video stores.
R.I.P River Phoenix, Siskel and Ebert.
I loved these two guys I grew up watching them
And RIP Ariana Grande 🥀
@@Hellraiser0601 she’s married
And John Hurt 😞
River Phoenix...........what a stud!
I would watch this right before I would go out to the movies on Saturday night.
I LOVED My Own Private Idaho! That and Drugstore Cowboy are two of my favorite movies . GVS was a real genius .
Watching this as a kid, I enjoyed Deceived b/c Goldie Hawn is amazing. I loved River Phoenix and watched all his movies but I didn’t watch Idaho. It’s weird to think that he was still here at this time and we were all waiting for which new movie he’d do!
My Own Private Idaho Review starts at 15:36
Deceived is full of cliches, but Goldie Hawn performance is breath of fresh air. MOPI is a underrated gem of KR. He took a chance and it paid off.
I thought it was pretty good, even with all the contrivances, but Roger's right about the ending (no spoilers). I laughed at it and said, "Who would be that dumb?" Especially when the character's supposedly so brilliant through the whole movie.
@@gspendlove As I said in my previous post, in my opinion, I thought Hawn performance out weighed the cliches and the idiot plot elements and made the movie watchable.
River Phoenix & Keanu Reeves spent a lot of time in Washington state in 1990 filming both I Love You To Death (in Tacoma) & My Own Private Idaho (in Seattle) us local fans stalked them relentlessly to get photos & autographs. Lol, to this day on various social media sites you'll see dozens of us locals still posting our photos with them.
Love a link for that ,Saint:)
Right, I forgot they did I Love You right before that in Tacoma. Amazing transition really.
Rapture and My Own Private Idaho, the only movies I've seen on this episode and the others I'd never even heard of.
When I was 13 years old my friends and I went to see Explorers with River in it almost every single weekend because we loved him and Robert Palmer's cover of the song All around The World. I didn't know who River was. But was drawn to the intelligence of his geeky character Wolfgang. Several years later he took my breath away as the Young Indy in Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade. River only had around 15 minutes on screen time at the very beginning of the film. It was perfection to me. He was offered the role of Young Indy in the TV series of the same name..But turned it down. I often wonder how his life would have tuned out had River not turned it down. As a result we are left with some fantastic performances from him. River was amazing and not afraid to challenge himself as a person or actor. So missed💔
Alotta Love For River Phoenix&Keanu Reeves in this one:)....:)...
Back when Portland was kind of stylish and romantic in its bohemia. Now...bleh.
If i'm remembering this right from the uploads we're getting by date of the show, this is the episode that they got rid of the new graphics for the recap, opening, etc. and went back to the old ones after getting those complaints.
I loved these guys I watch these videos to cheer me up I grew up watching these guys
Siskel is dead on about Goldie’s performance. She gave a serious, grounded and understated performance. It was refreshing, because that’s usually not the character she plays.
Necessary Roughness was good, but it seems like many people forgot about it.
I actually like movies that are all-star “character actor” casts like it was.
I freaking love that movie. It’s a movie I can watch and when it ends I can start it over again. 🤣

One reason why it has a special place in my heart is the scene with the NFL player cameos as the prisoners includes Jim Kelly (who, being a lifelong Bills fan up here in Western New York state, I got to meet when I was 14!😁 🏈 )
They gave away the whole plot of Deceived. It was a good film thanks to Hawn & Hurd.
I give it 5 bags of popcorn 🍿 and a small soda 🥤
I've seen Necessary Roughness and The Rapture. They're both good movies.

Siskel and ebert were great coz they were honest about movies. All the youtube movie critics just praise every crappy movie
yeah "Rotten tomatoes"too has been watered down too..Jim Bob Smith from the Rocky Mountain County Gazette
@@iluvmylovebirdandmybudgiet7729 rotten tomatoes are corrupt
It’s pretty weird that two actors in My Own Private Idaho both died of drug overdoses.
Loved the Rapture.
I loved these two guys I miss them I keep watching there reviews over and over again thank God for you tube
Nearly everyone involved in the film The Rapture was Jewish, tackling a Christian viewpoint. I loved it!!! Mimi Rogers was great. A bizarre motion picture.
The Rapture and My Own Private Idahoe are two of the heaviest movies you'll ever see . Not the type of stuff you'd see available to be rented at your local grocery store in the Bible belt . I thought they were both great.
The rapture? As a kid I thought it was the worst movie of all time.
@@sahej6939 How ?
Peter McCallister no!!!
I just watched 'Idaho' again last night. I saw it in the 90s and had no recollection of it. Good acting but twice is enough.
Deceived. Is that the one where she tricks the dude into falling down an open elevator shaft? 🤣 So stupid. Lolololol
My reviews
Deceived (two thumbs up)
