North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) was established in 1973 by an Act of Parliament. The University is situated in Shillong, Meghalaya. NEHU has two campuses, one main campus in Shillong located at Mawkynroh, Umshing and the Tura campus located at Chandmari, Tura. It is a central university that has received 4-star status & ‘A’ grade accreditation from NAAC. It is affiliated to 66 undergraduate colleges including eight professional institutes.
NEHU comprises 44 academic departments and 2 study centres under eight schools that offer UG, PG and doctoral level programmes across various disciplines.

ABOUT THE CAMPUS:
NEHU has two campuses, one main campus in Shillong located at Mawkynroh, Umshing, and the
Tura Campus located at Chandmari, Tura. The University has also initiated the establishment of
the third campus at Wahiajer in West Jaintia Hills District.

Selection Process:
(i) For general course, there will not be any Entrance Test for admission of students in Session 2021-22 and admission will be based on merit.
(ii) The students from affiliated colleges of NEHU be given 20-point weightage only for the session 2021-22.
(iii) The above decision is solely for the academic session 2021-22 in view of continuance of Covid-19 pandemic.
