(other than the fight she would put up) Besides. She's his granddaughter. She means more to the entire family. Plus this way, the writers could make it where Castle could actually meet his dad
That's what I thought. I would have done the reveal that it is Castle's dad a little differently. He helps save Alexis, but he says that he is just there to help. They get back and Beckett is still trying to figure out who the guy is because he killed the kidnapper. If he is FBI/CIA or whatever why did he go overboard torturing him before he killed him. Martha sees one of the sketches and says I know. Richard that's your father.
If Beckett did go with Castle to help him rescue his daughter Alexis in Paris,and if she met Castle's father then,she would be mad at him for not being with Castle,his mother and his daughter for the good & bad times.
I would've written the story differently. In the scene where they let the other girl go but still have Alexis. Castle says this doesn't make any sense. Then Beckett tells him he's right. So do what you do best & make it make sense. What's the story.
Question if the guy was trying to draw out Castle's dad and needed to take someone high profile so Castle's dad would know about it, why didn't they go after Castle? He is high profile and it would be all over the news if he went missing. It would be harder to get him than Alexis sure, but not impossible and they wouldn't have to worry about transporting two people.
If Kevin Ryan had got to meet Castle's father after he became a father himself, would he yell at him for not raising his only son, whether Castle had or hadn't been made fun at school by other kids because his father didn't raise him?

Because in Volkov's mind, Alexis is the easiest way to get to Hunt.
Because he lost his wife (a female he loved) so he took Alexis (a female they all loved) although the love is different but its the same in his mind
