Welcome to the official Laver Cup CZcams channel. The event takes place every year, the second week after the US Open and the location rotates between Europe and the rest of the world cities. The sixth edition of Laver Cup will be held in Vancouver’s Rogers Arena from September 22-24, 2023. Team World are the reigning champions after defeating Team Europe for the first time, in London. Each team is comprised of six players and led by a team captain, who is a legend of the sport. The captain of Team Europe is Bjorn Borg and the captain of Team World is John McEnroe. Three of the six players qualify based on their ATP singles ranking as of the Monday following the French Open. Three are “captain’s picks”, announced by the start of the US Open. Each match win is worth one point on Friday, two points on Saturday and three points on Sunday. The first team to reach 13 points out of a total 24 points available wins Laver Cup. If the points are tied at 12:12 at the end of all matches, a fifth match (Decider) on Sunday is played to determine the winner.

What is a Let in Tennis?
In tennis, a let is any instance where players replay an entire point except when it’s called on a second serve.
There are a few different instances when a player or umpire may call a let. To start, we’ll cover the service let, which is the most common.
    Service Let
A service let occurs under three different circumstances:
    1. The ball hits the net (usually the net chord at the top) and subsequently lands in the correct service box
    2. The ball hits the net and makes contact with the receiver(s) or anything they’re wearing before hitting the ground
    3. The server hits the ball before their opponent is ready
The first instance is the most common, and it’s usually easy to spot because the trajectory of the ball changes after hitting the net chord. Other times, there may be an audible noise when the ball clips the net.
