I happened to me, luckily my next employer was willing to pay out my notice period and I ensure not to fall into this trap again.
I gave up 1 month-worth salary of a 2-month notice so that I could obtain a rare opportunity. I've been in the new job for almost 3 years (more than my first 2 jobs) and I was glad I did so. However, I do not think everyone has that privilege to forego 1-month wages due to their lifestyle/restrictions.
Companies that are asking for long notice period of more than 2 months are having attrition issues of retaining talents. Hence to make u “think twice” before u decide u leave them
its common in banking to have 2 to 3 months.
I just lost a job offer because of my 2 month notice period 😢
May not be a bad thing. If the company cannot wait, then maybe they always shorthanded. Workload too much
In nursing home they require 2 months. Only locals have 1 month notice.
Yes people round the wold sty Singapore working, so jobs , spot tq so much..come back fmly people forever ♾️❤❤❤❤❤
How about the effectiveness of 12-18 months non compete clause in the T&C? There were cases of employer suing ex-employee for joining same industry.
