- Hey what's going on guys! Today I am going to show you how to wire up the Turn Signal and DRL function on your 7in round headlights. This video is actually an extended part of my main video where I show you how you can install 7 inch round headlights on a Hummer H3.

Thank you for your tutorial! Super helpful. Got my headlights all installed and the drl working amazing. I have an 08 5cyl...I had to use the number 18 in the fuse box in order for the lights to be off when the vehicle was off.
Yeah sorry about that. Different model years have different fuse numbers so its hard to say for sure.
My fuse box has a n° 39 for DRL.... 2007 H3 Adventure Pack
This tutorial and the tips for the wiring harness is great! I just hooked up my new lights!
BUT... I disagree with how he set up the running lights. I just tied the led into the turn signal running lights and deactivated the always on amber light... Looks much cooler with Just the LED headlight being lit.

4 Low Mode I bought the SUNPIE RGB Headlight/foglights from amazon. The first time I only received one fog light. The second time the high beams would not turn on. Is there a better brand or should I just keep trying until I get ones that work?
@@morganjroberts That sucks. It sounds like you may be getting returned/used lights instead of new ones. Just took a look on Amazon for other brands. Looks like the SunPie RGB Headlight/Foglight kit has the best ratings on Amazon. A lot of the other kits I saw had even lower ratings so I am not sure going with another brand would work.
4 Low Mode I figured it out. The connections between the converters were just bad. I'm going to cut and crimp them, or even sodder, instead.

Yeah I recently discovered that the lased designs headlights are slightly off when I installed those new KC projector lights. I went ahead and contacted Lased designs to report this and he thanked me for the feedback. Thankfully it is not that hard to fix.
Again , watched this additional video and it was great ! But I bought lights that change colors and all for my hummer, but if I connect the RGB lights to the DRL will it not allow it to run a different color other than the normal orange like color while the DRL s are on and will the turn signal be the same way ?

Hi Mate, love your videos. Can I ask you if you were wiring in 4 inch LED lights to replace the fog lights, do you need to use the led polarity converter like you did on the 7 inch headlights? Cheers

Do you have another suggestion for another bracket for the hummer headlight?
Attempted the installation today, everything was functioning properly. Low/high beam were working as they should using the polarity converter boxes. Day Running light was plugged into fuse #17 and connected to each headlight (red wire from each headlight). All was functioning correctly until the metal connection you made @8:22 made contact with the frame of the hummer and sparked. After this happened, the day running lights worked for a little while but shortly after the drl no longer turned on while the hummer was on. Could this spark have caused a blown fuse? I’ve already ordered a new drl harness from the link you provided, hopefully this will resolve the issue. Is there any other reason why the drls wouldn’t work? Thank you in advanced! Great videos.

I ordered from LASED DESIGNS on April 23, 2023 at 6:34 am and I have tried to contact them 4 times they have still not shipped still waiting on fog light adapters
Great video! Are the halos always ON when the truck is running? I noticed towards the end of the video you turned your lights off but the halos were still on. Is there a way to turn off halos completely when you turn lights off? I want it so if lights are off, no lights including the halos are on.
Using this method, the Halos will always be on as long as the H3 is on. The only way to turn the halos off is to turn off the truck or disconnect the wire that goes to the fuse box. There are some other ways you can wire these up if you need the halos off. You could just add a switch to the DRL harness so you have the ability to turn them off manually. If this dosen't work for your needs, you could just skip the DRL harness and tap into the stock DRLS (low beams) or side marker lights. However, by doing this, once you turn off the stock DRLS (low beams) by rotating the headlight knob in the H3, the new 7in DRLS will also turn off, and there is no way to just have on the new 7in DRLS on by themselves.

Had you just tied the always on LEDs into the running light they would turn off and operate just like the running lights. To me this just makes a lot more sense. I set mine up this way but terminated the always on Amber running lights.
@@testtacles2 That is definitely a valid way how to do wire them up. The reason why I chose not do it this way is I want to be able to run the DRL Halo ring on the new 7in headlight independently. So the parking light function on the turn signal harness only turns on when the ambient light sensor detects a low amount of light. So during the day time your parking/running lights are not actually on. They only turn on at dusk or at night. So if you were tap into your parking light wire (The blue one) on your turn signal harness, your new 7in DRL halo lights would not be on during the day. It is only when it gets dark enough, will your parking/running lights will activate, thus turning your 7in DRL halo lights on. Also by doing it the way I recommended, you can completely turn off your headlights and still keep your 7in DRL halo lights on. On the H3, from the factory the headlight low beams do act as daytime running light so they will always be on while you are driving during the day. Since you just installed a new 7in Halo DRL light, that new DRL can take the place of your headlight low beam day time running light. So you can shut off your headlights manually by turning the H3 headlight knob to the left to turn them off to only use your new 7in Halo DRL light. If you were to wire them to the parking light, when you shut off the headlights, the parking/running lights would turn off as well (This also assumes that your parking lights would be on to being with, which they won’t be during the daytime). The only way you would be able to have your 7in Halo DRL light on by itself without the headlights on, is by manually turn the H3 headlight knob to the parking light mode, so you can have your parking lights on without the headlights. This becomes inconvenient however because your Headlight knob is in a manual setting and you will have to remember to switch them off everytime you turn off your H3 and get out, or else these lights will stay on. So basically, I chose to wire them they way I did so can have my new 7in DRL halo lights on no matter what time of day and I have the choice of running only my new 7in DRL halo lights instead of the low beam headlights while driving. Again, I am not saying you are wrong for doing it the way you did, I am just explaining my reasoning.
I have similar headlights but when I power on turn signals it wont blink when drls are also activated

Is it possible to put a h3 5 cylinders 09-10 front differential to a H3t alpha ?
I have a hummer H3T alpha 2010 and my front differential doesn’t work any more, what can I do to fix my problem? I tried on looking for all the parts of the differential and fix it but I couldn’t find all of them , and I was looking to put a front differential from a H3 5 cylinders but i don’t know if that’s possible, what can I do in my case?

Hey dude got a question, you changed the orange front turn signal lights to led, did you need a load resistor or anti flicker module or anything like that. Do you have any problems with hyper flashing of the led lights
Fantastic question! I actually did not experience any hyperflash when installing the new front turn signal LED bulbs. When I was working on the video, I did actually buy some load resistors in anticipation that this might happen, but to my surprise it did not happen with these LED bulbs that I got. Since the new LED bulb just worked normally, I chose to skip over mentioning anything about the load resistors. Also just to mention, I have not upgraded the rear tail lights to LED bulbs yet, so I am not sure if those will cause hyperflash. Hope this helps!

@@kevinharaki9579 The easiest way how to get to the front turn signals and side markers is by the wheel well. The front wheel well is held in by a total of 10x plastic push clips, but you can probably get away with changing the bulbs out just by taking 5 or 6 of them and then bending the wheel well down. You will need an actual panel puller tool and not just a flat head screw driver. I don't have any content on the channel right now showing you how to do it, but these steps will covered in my next video that I upload. The video itself is not about how to replaced these bulbs, but will show you basically everything you need to get to them. The video is done but I just need to do a few more things before uploading it.

How do you wire the daylights DTR into in auto mode? Or did I miss that? I seen you turn the switch off in Oder the DTR light to reset?
The day time running lights (White) were wired to ignition. That means they turn on whenever the key is put into the H3 and the ignition is turned on. They will always be on when your H3 is on, but they will turn off when you take your key out. The reason I did it that way way is so they are independent of the low beam headlights. This allows you to turn off your headlights and only have your new 7in DRLs on.

@@hellonwheels341 There is probably another open one you can use that is a spare or aux. Check your fusebox diagram to see which ones are being used. You are looking for one that has ignition power. So no power when key is out. Power when key is in.

Works great! I have not had any issues with it. Both the turn signals and DRL functions still work!

Going to start filming tomorrow! Yesterday I took some high quality pics of the adapters that will be going on the Lased Designs website pretty soon.

@@RyanWilliams2 Haha yes there is some updates. I have some of the foglight video filmed but, I need to film a few more things. When filming for the foglight video, I had another idea. I took the bumper off in order to get some better shots of where I would be installing the foglights. You don't really need to take the whole bumper off to put on the foglights, I just did it because the video would look a lot nicer than if I just tried shoving the into camera into one of the crevices to show what I was doing. So anyway I recorded the whole process of me taking the bumper off so I could make a separate video on it. This is an important video to make since I have some videos that I plan on making in the future that require removing the bumper and I can just tell people to watch that video rather than trying to show people how to remove the bumper in every video that requires you to remove the bumper. Sorry I know I have been taking a while, but the bumper video is basically done and should be uploaded very soon and then I can work to finish the foglight video.
Anybody else end up having #17 already in use and need to go elsewhere for DRL power? The only other options I found had power with the vehicle off. I'm wondering if it would work to pull the DRL fuse and rob this power, without making the BCM angry. I used the full harness and right now, the DRL function ends up turning on the low beams at full power.
I didn't use the fuse box at all. Honestly it's better to just run it into the running light and turn those yellow ones off.
