San is the lead vocalist for a reason! He has done a cover called Breathe too and it's so good. San does falsettos and harmonies in ateez's songs. And he has some iconic vocal parts too!
San was actually in choir and the lead vocalist in a band before he debuted as the lead vocalist in ateez,he’s been singing since he was very little also but his vocals are always overlooked because he’s known for his stage presence more than anything else but he has a solo cover of breathe by Lee hi if you want to check it out.
Oh my! You were here for a surprise with San! One of the reasons I was waiting for this unit to happen was to be able to see what san could do if he's given the chance to, and he made sure to show the incredibly talented vocalist he is. San is actually the lead vocalist of the group, but since he has become such a standing figure for stage presence and dancing in kpop (he is the role model for A LOT of 4th and 5th gen idols for this) his original position has been overlooked by new fans and even resulted in getting less vocally challenging parts in the songs since he had to concentrate more in performing.

sometimes we forget that san has the most beautiful angelic voice in the industry because he is multitalented
If San were in almost any other group, he'd be the main vocalist. I'm happy he's getting the respect and appreciation he deserves.

San entered KQ as a vocalist and was recognised as a genius composer but focused on dance.
Jongho and san have been noted in the group as on par vocalists with different focus if you will. This is not well known even in the fandom after six years because of the direction their production team takes, with preassigned parts for jongho only, and less melodic singing parts for the rest of the vocalists.
Jongho recently did a great Karaoke live where San flexed his vocals like youve never heard. The emotion was palpable and his voice was so thick and rich. Hope you give it a listen for yourself and thanks for the chill reaction.

There is a reason our Choi Brothers are the Main and Lead Vocalists of Ateez. People, especially new people discovering Ateez, tend to sleep on San’s vocals. His main position is Lead Vocalists. JongHo has also worked so hard on his vocals and continues to do so. Working with vocal coaches even while they are in LA right now.
I just love them so much. And I am so proud of all of Ateez right now. My Atiny heart is melting.
San has another singing cover, it's called Breathe and it is beautiful. Each member has special clips, Hongjoong has quite a few. It's a good way to get to know each member and what they can do. San and Wooyoung also have dance performance videos and the group as a whole have dance covers or videos under the name KQ Fellas, from their pre-debut. All of them have covers if you wanna focus only on one member / voice to know their capabilities. Yunho just released one on his birthday a few weeks ago.
Thanks for reacting, beautiful cover! Also not a lot of people outside the fandom unfortunately don’t know, but Jongho has been main vocalist and San lead vocalist from debut. The title track are not usually super vocal heavy, so it might not be as noticeable. It’s more in the b-sides

Jongho looked at you...🤣 San's vocals are often overlooked by people coz they are so focused on his stage presence... His dancing and facial expressions gets you and his vocals are missed in the process... Seonghwa and Yunho's vocals are so stable live, even when they are dancing so heavily and their vocal range is just wow... Wooyoung's high tone and Yeosang's bass voice just elevates their songs... Hongjoong is good at all positions and he sometimes covered for Jongho when the latter was injured... And Mingi has been improved on his singing a lot these last couple of years and has been incorporating them in his solo songs and a few times in Ateez's songs as well...
Here's a list of songs Ateez members have covered... Hongjoong and Mingi's songs were written, composed and produced by themselves... The others' are official covers they have done over the last 2 years...

Most ppl honestly do not realize what a good vocalist San is because they're distracted by his stage presence 😭
san actually audition as vocalist.... and he has many beautiful parts in ateez songs especially bsides... and he often harmonizes with other members.
I often tell people that the entire Ateez vocal line are good enough vocalists to be main vocals in other groups, but they're in a group with Jongho, so .....

I feel like it's my favorite moment in time when someone new recognizes a single member. Honestly, they'll most likely all deliver this same reaction from you if you happen to watch their individual covers. Atiny has been asking for a Choi brother (both have the last name Choi) duet since forever, so it is thrilling to finally get one. If you watch behind the scenes vids or their logbooks, San is CONSTANTLY singing. When he joined Ateez, he didn’t even know how to dance and made it in on vocals alone.
There is a vid someone called Cat recently made called Ateez Raw Vocals Compilation- Short Version, if you want to get a feel for each of their voices. Some other vocal heavy songs that have MVs are Utopia, Turbulence (there are some great versions of this song live… and a drunk version), and Inception. In concert, the song Star 11117 has each of their vocals separately and is beautiful. Atiny was named on 11/17 and Star 1117 is a song for the fans.

@@EXPECTATIONSSHATTERED-wk9qu He mentioned that after debuting his throat was hurt and he could no longer hit the high notes and he even vomited blood when he tried and he had to learn to sing differently to do it without hurting himself. His voice has changed a little bit but it's beautiful as it was before.

I’m gonna say this, and I would like for you to react, to this song and this performance cause it highly underrated by Jongho. Yeah, so San had zero dance experience when he was accepted to KQ, he got in purely on vocal skill, looks, flexibility from tae kwon do and raw determination. Look where our mans is now! :) He's a phenomenal dancer now, but his vocals kind of get buried under all that, and also, of no fault of either of them, he kind of gets buried underneath Jongho vocals, too, because maknae is a powerhouse.
iirc San also got accepted to kq because of his composition/songwriting skills. He was dubbed a "genius composer" pre-debut
@@emmylia I'm not 100% on the "genius composer" part, but he definitely was writing and producing before he signed with KQ and wants to get back to doing that.

Yed san does a lot of the harmonies actually. He's main vocal haha itd just that he got so good at dancing snd performing that that id talked a lot. He also has a solo cover Breath also super emotional and they sing s lot in other songs right now i hqve blocked names but in Thank you he sings a lot in Its you
he's the lead vocalist actually, but i 100% believe that he's good enough to be a main vocal as well
@@emmylia the only reason he's not considered "main vocal" is bc jongho does most of the high notes which is the position's requirement. however, san can also do high notes (i.e. his high note in star 1117 for example). he has the makings of a main vocal for kpop standards and tbh i consider him to be one in ateez due to his technique and sustain abilities even though he's barely treated like a lead vocalist lately

It’s precisely why so many people don’t know how good he is and i hope their production team starts highlighting his vocals more like they do with jongho’s!
