    Lol, when you said “smart cams, unboxing done” that made me laugh as that normally could be a video for some people and it was done in less than 10 seconds 😂

    Really nifty cameras, and not a bad price at all. I find a lot of cameras get you with the subscription for storage, so having the sd card available is a bonus!

      @MispronouncedAdventures  Před 2 lety +1

      One of the reasons the NEO cams have been quite popular as well as the paid subscription service is not mandatory. The free one I find is pretty sufficient and The bonus of continuous local storage on the sd

      @@MispronouncedAdventures I need to replace my home cameras, so I'm going look into these a bit more today as they do like they'll do the job I need perfectly.

    We’ve had these for a few years now and cannot fault them. They’re small, use little power, cheap, have great features and the image quality day & night is fantastic 👍🏻

      yeah its been great having them installed. and pretty impressed with how little power they use.

    This is almost exactly the same as the WYZE camera for those of us in the US, it is not a stealth camera at night. It has a red circle around the lens. I love mine, super easy to install and no subscription and the voice is useful, I freaked a guy out who was taking too much interest - caught on the motion setting- I said into my phone from several miles away "What are you DOING??" he leaped back and then left. If you set it on the sound alerts you will get alerts *all day long*. Motion is the best and it has a person recognition mode, so it only sends alerts for a person (not a fruit fly).

      @MispronouncedAdventures  Před 3 lety +1

      Yep definitely seen that in my research process for the model hardware wise ( externally visually ) it’s a direct copy with a downgrade in software and equivalent price for the WYZE in the UK.
      The IR ring is definitely visible at night. I haven’t used the two way audio yet but I know it has it.
      A few people have mention the noise detection which I haven’t had an issue with just yet, I’ll have to look out for the person detection as I’m not sure if that made it into the Neos software vs the WYZE one.
      But for the price I pay and the no subscription definitely for fills my requirement to be able to remotely check the van the detection features for me are an added bonus

    Drat!
    Unfortunately these don’t seem to be available currently even sold out on the Neos Wubsite where they were previously discounted to £19
    B&Q were selling them off at £24 but also sold out.
    Some on eBay for silly prices though

    Hah! I went through an identical setup process a couple of weeks ago with a Xiaomi Smart Doorbell, right down to the "forgetting to peel of the plastic protection" bit. Sadly the doorbell failed miserably as the door in question is steel and WiFi doesn't like steel doors at all.

    we have these, paying the £2.99/month overall gives schedulded arming and longer clip and storage. The USB port on them is actually for a reciever for their wireless contact, leak and motion sensors, which unfortunatley I have found really unreliable and keep disconnecting from the hubs we have. (usually when we're away from home and would quite like to know if our house is flooding!) Also another commenter re 'person detection' on the wyze equivalent product which these are a clone of, unfortunatley didnt make it into the NEOS software. Noise detection will ping you all the time btw. There is also a unofficial weatherproof housing on Amazon as well for them if you want them outside. As you say, for less then £30, whats not to like.

    • @MispronouncedAdventures
      @MispronouncedAdventures  Před 3 lety +1

      I think if I was in a fixed format I’d might be interested in the subscription as it a pretty ok deal for the price.
      Into my research on them I did see they are a Direct copy of Wyze hardware looking wise but a downgrade in software.
      I did see they had a whole suite of accessories as well. Using the USB in the back as a power out be that for an accessory or another camera seems to be working quite well.
      For under 30 quid can’t complain too much!

    I am struggling to understand the point of these cameras. Please explain.

    • @MispronouncedAdventures
      @MispronouncedAdventures  Před 3 lety +1

      No problem. For me mostly security while away from the vehicle, generally no need for whilst I’m in the vehicle. If I’m leaving my van somewhere for a day if I’m out in the mountains guiding clients or even a week or so I might turn the cameras on to the armed mode therefore any movement within the cab or habitation area would automatically record. Additionally the localised SD card recording going 24/7 if I ever have a issue or confrontation with someone who either comes to my drivers door to talk to me or my sliding door the interaction and audio would be recorded for evidence if required. Additionally for anyone who has a dog or the rare occasion Atlas is with me and he is left in the van you could log onto the app remotely and check on them

    • @MispronouncedAdventures
      @MispronouncedAdventures  Před 3 lety +1

      Exterior cameras are probably more useful and is an area I’m still currently researching as I would prefer a localise camera system and a display where I could view what’s going on outside the van from my bed. As I live in my van sometimes if you’re in a secluded park up and people turn up in the very early hours of the morning it’s nice to be able to see what’s going on outside
