As someone who kinda got into Anime VTubing as a bit of an interest in the fad, and with friends who go "EWW, ANIME!".. I can say that doing things in VRoid is kinda fun regardless of what some may say. Of course even up to this day I still use mostly Booth bought items for clothes and hair cuz I'm legit not up to that level, but I do mess around with shading n such for the skin layer and kinda got it in a nice place just from messing about.. To be honest I should try to make my own pupils n such since I like making mixed/shade/oddly abstract stuff every now n then, though I really don't have an idea of what I wanna make as a design since I kinda like my stuff simple rather than crazy looks lol.
I kinda started rambling there, but my point is, just dabble in VRoid even if you aren't planning to do VTubing, it can be a pretty nice pass time while listening to music or something. Maybe editing your VRoid Avatar in Blender or Unity is noice too. Though I've only done Unity to add helmets n such, it's still a really noice productive feeling time.

I have been taking forever just making body armor for my model. Been using Gimp where I can use the templates to place designs in spots then place the pieces in place to be added as layers to clothing. Your method is much faster, lol. My layers look like hand drawn textures. My model's face still looks washed out with no features whatsoever. Finally making a humanoid net navi, lol. After downloading blender and Unity, I think I need a class to get it down. Would love to give my character a mechanized two handed blade.

I know this probably should be really simple, but I just don’t really get how you zoom in to one side of the texture editor. When I edit the texture, I try and zoom in, but it zooms in towards the middle and I can’t get it to zoom into the individual sides of the texture editor. (Like when I’m editing the iris or the eyelashes)
