- This video was taken at the Winter NAMM Show for 2013 in Anaheim, CA. Andy Timmons and Eric Gales put on an impromptu jam at the Dunlop booth. I had honestly never heard Eric Gales play before, but was quite familiar with Andy Timmons. It was a very cool moment - and I'll certainly be checking out more of Eric Gales' stuff.

Eric Gales is so good that when he is playing you might not even know he is playing - super ORGANIC AND AMAZING!
Andy teaches right up the road from me in Addison Tx. Ive wanted to take lessons again at 58 after playing professionally all my life. l met him while working at guitar center in Dallas. lll never forget what a good person he was like ''lm going to the convenience store, what can l get you guys?'' type good person. Just to pay to talk business and about all the greats he's played with would be worth cost of lessons.

Eric is easily one of the most natural sounding, amazingly talented guitarists I've ever seen, but I am ashamed to say I tend to forget about Andy Timmons. He is not only just unbelievably talented, what always strikes me the most is his damn near perfect ear for tone and just how tasteful his playing is. AT knows when to back off and cruise around and when to put it to the floor and burn it down, and that's something 99% of virtuoso guitar players lack.
Been 4 years since I first stumbled across that vid. I’m a huge fan of Andy Timmons. You’re right on the money when describing how tasteful his playing his. Andy Timmons is the epitome of the ultimate blues-rock guitar player. When teaming il without Eric gales what more can we ask for. Musical exctasy.

Superb. Two great guitarists having a bit of fun and enjoying each other's company. I don't usually enjoy jams but this was really good.
and people passing by looking the other way not knowing who's right there making this wonderful sound, two guitar masters, and I would love to have the opportunity to see these monsters playing...

It's amazing how many people have never heard of Eric Gales or Eric Johnson.
I had the pleasure of hearing both of them on stage tonight doing a duet of Waterfall on the hendrix experience tour. Absolutely incredible talent. Gales matched EJ note for note and then some. Never seen anything like it.

Yep saw that show in Austin,Texas! It was incredible. Eric Gales very underrated guitar player. He is right up there with the greats.
Hard to believe if u play electric that u would never have heard of either Eric. That means you probably don't know a lot of other great guitarists. Do ur homework. Read guitar magazines, check out the internet

They should tour as a double bill- great individual artists- and better chemistry than I have seen in most two guitar bands. And their tones are distinct but complemetary.

They seemed a little uncomfortably awkward at first, then quickly honed in on each others style. Always loved Andy, and always knew Gales to be good, but never knew how good. Nice Eric. Nice.
