I love how Zoa’s second effect is a tribute to how Bandit Keith “accidentally” dropped it on the field when he set it in facedown position in his duel with Joey in Duelist Kingdom

I won't lie I think it would be even better if it immediately went back to your hand if you didn't have enhanced metal morph in grave.
It also combos with red-eyes soul which is funny

10:06 It is a Time Machine reference. Time Machine is in the background of the card
To add onto this, it's when Keith was cheating with 7 Completed on Slot Machine and then used a card called Pillager and used Joey's Sword and Shield. Then Joey used Graverobber to take Time Machine and have a full powered Red Eyes Metal with Dragon Nails to win the duel.
Red-eyes gets the tinniest more powerful support in a while and it's not even for the it's own archetype. its not bad. just weird it happened twice

@RedTheWeeb it is part of the archetype just by name, we have 2 red-eye synchro monsters but they were for another deck, but it still gets the benefits of red-eyes. That's just where I was going with it
@@arctic227 that's fair but you also gonna remember that those synchros are part of the zombie world theme and only use red-eyes as an iconic monster the same way it uses felgrand or summon skull. "Part of an archetype" in a way but not truly part of it. This however is fitting for the red-eyes theme of equipping and burning

These cards do work with Desperado Barrel Dragon as well, so this is sortofa Dark-Machine engine type of archetype. I kinda like it, hope it ends up doing well.
Red-Eyes Black Full Metal Dragon is splash able in a Red-Eyes. For the obvious reason is Meteor Black Comet Dragon's Effect. An Improved upgrade over regular Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon.
As a red-eyes player I'll take what I can get

I definitely want to try dropping this into a deck. This is a prime example of why I love Yugioh. They really go all out with their nostalgic throwbacks.

The Red-Eyes card is Specifically a Joey card/Support. It references the Dragon Nails + Metal Morph being equipped to it.
10:00 It is a Time Machine reference. Time Machine is in the artwork at the top left. Also "If a monster(s) you control is destroyed by battle or an opponent's card effect: Target 1 of them; Special Summon it." is also a reference to Time Machine.
Here’s hoping they print Heavy Metal King as support for the Enhanced Metalmorph engine in the 2024 Animation Chronicle set or at least the core set after Rage of the abyss.
sadly all the new cards got revealed but maybe they'll put him in a main core set Konami has been doing that lately
@@janithernest3929 Really cause I just counted 28 blank card slots remaining in this year’s animation chronicle set so there might be a pretty good chance of Heavy Metal King getting revealed.

Metal Copycat is similar to how the VWXYZ cards have support realting to the Ojamas where the character that used the archetypes have a monster that connects the two archetypes together

Metal Copycat's stats actually do matter, as some dogmatika cards can search out light spellcasters with matchinf ATK/DEF
I guess people say Red Eyes Metal Dragon was a Keith card cause it used Metalmorph that Joey took with Graverobber? I've always associated Red Eyes Metal with Joey so weird to see people call it a Keith card.

People call it bandit keith for simplicity I think. It is absolutely a perfect balance of joey and keith
Joey has a tendency to rip off other people's strategies. Red Eyes Black Metal Dragon rips off Bandit Keith. Lord Of The Red rips off that Valon guy from the Waking The Dragon arc. Graverobber steals his opponents cards. Copycat copies his opponents monsters. Red-Eyes wasn't even originally his card, he won it from Rex Raptor, along with Jinzo. Black Skull Dragon was a monster that Yugi created, but Joey stole the Idea to use against Yugi in their duel. Yugi also has a tendency to make his guys ride dragons such as Gaia riding Curse Of Dragon, Black Luster Soldier riding Blue-Eyes Ultimate, and DM/DMG riding Timaeus (plus now DMOC riding BEUD). No one else really does this, except Joey copying it in Battle City with Alligator Sword Dragon.
Dude I’m so hyped for this. Being a Bandit Keith and Zane Truesdale fan I can’t wait. This support support would be really good in Cydra as well👍

Do you not play Radiance? Trap card that's HOPT. There's also cards like Welcome/Big Welcome Labrynth, Swordsoul Blackout, Mannadium Reframing, Salamangreat Rage, etc. which are all meta-relevant, HOPT traps.
Im loving all this nostalgic support lately. Perfect for the 4th of July.
My favorite thing about this new theme is it just means there is guaranteed more red-eyes support in the future. I mean in a way thats already a possibility with flame swordsman stuff when they get their eventual next wave it may tie in the 2 decks but this one already has 1 guarenteed tie in and an almost certain follow up considering zoa got a retrain that allows it to summon easier theres a good chance REBD will get one too. Perhaps one that references dragon nails only since fullmetal is metalmorph+dragon nails.
Still 7 years since the last actual red-eyes support wave if you dont include this which you really shouldnt but still cool to get a new card after 2 years since our last single new card
When Flame Swordsman gets their eventual next wave? Between Blue Flame Swordsman and the Link 2, Konami danced around making that an archetype for ages. Wasn't it eventually a TCG exclusive? Those are kinda known for getting shafted on subsequent waves of support.
@@Trekkie46 the thing is tcg exclusive is a kinda a lie. It's still made by the ocg and that's usually why the good support doesnt come until they're out in the ocg
@@RedTheWeeb I'd have to look into that. Konami of America is based in Las Vegas. Gold Pride for instance I've heard is supposed to be one that Billy Brake designed now that he's working for them.

I wouldn’t call all of these Bandit Keith cards. Copycat and Red-Eyes are specifically Joey cards after all. Am hoping for another secondary wave though

So basically, to splash the engine in you'll want 3 of the new metalmorph, 3 of the 1☆, 1 of each of the new metal boss monsters, 2 of the spell, maybe one of the time machine trap for if you opened with the necessary other cards in hand. So 10-11 card dip but doesn't eat up any extra deck slots and if you run something that can as an addition search the 1☆, you're good synergy-wise?
The fact they made an actual cool and good support for an weird almost one off character is weirdly cool

I def dont get everyone specifically saying this is bandit keith it is a perfect mix of joey and keith in the amount of cards
Now we just need Slot MACHINE 7 to tie both Kieth and Joey's Gambling aspect. Heck maybe that Erata can be a support for a Dice strategy.
Lame for Konami not finally releasing Heavy Metal King. This archetype isn’t just Bandit Keith, it’s also Joey, so why not add Johnny Steps Heavy Metal King? And it’s can have the effect of must first be Special summon by tributing a level 5 or higher Spellcaster. And it can negate Trap card and destroy 1 face-down card.
The second I saw these cards I immediately thought of the new LaD deck, and the new Tachyon deck. Both can make this very easily, and its actually very convenient im LaD for when you burn through all his negates you can flip enhanced metalmorph turn the spent LaD into Red eyes full metal dragon and get a massive bodied omni negate that can't be targeted or destroyed by your opponents monsters, and spells
I can't wait for these cards to drop. I've already got a deck build setup to fuse Red-eyes, Flame Swordsman and Metalmorph arce types into one deck to make a modern Joey Weeler deck 😎 and I threw in the Claw of Hermos
Put it in Heiratics so they can Actually do something going 1st that doesn’t look like Dragon Link w/ extra steps.. or Branded since they have fusion dragons that wouldn’t mind being used as tribute since they could still search or special summon something during the end phase..
Metal morph probably has some synergy with Labyrinth.
I've been wondering when we were gonna get more keith support. Kinda seems like it'd be ok in an archfiend, red-eyes (duh) or blue-eyes deck. I don't have much experience with the former 2 but worst case I'm thinking the Keith cards are decent beaters, the decks fit the criteria, and tbh first thing i thought of was a combo with black skull dragon and defusion.
A combo i see is
Get out Metal Zoa and Red eyes, use Metals effects if needed, then on the opponents turn if one of them is destroyed you can drop Desperado Barrel dragon and use its effect if its the battle phase.
I like how now days yugioh is dropping the name have to be in its title, but now in it’s description, I think that’s a smart move Shining Sarcophagus does the same thing
Do they have a fan made format where you can only use DM monsters, but you can also use the upgraded versions I think that would be a fun ass format to play.
The fact that the metalmorph archetype has to rely on traps makes them a bit slower. I don't know that much of the speed of the game in its current state but it is what it is.
Time engine does require more setup but running foolish burial goods should make it easier in getting a metalmorph trap nto the graveyard. Id still run it as a 1 off though.

Wasn't the fact that Snake Eyes facilitated one card combos the reason that the deck is so hated? Is this getting a pass because of DM nostalgia?
These cares could very well adjust the whole game. I know traps aren't really relevant anymore but considering these boss monsters are basically immune to spell and monster effect traps really are the only option.
And they didn’t make a card called “flash flare blast”
For an initial batch these cards despite being anime inspired are not bad at all. Some of the cards can even be spliced as an engine if you want.
Sad we still don't have a Slot Machine retrain yet!
I love cards that are retains of these classic monsters. I specially love the old artstyle like Zoa. I would love for konami to release Panik’s cards for example. Or more toons always

the idea of metalmorph was to turn non machine into one. so the possibility of barrel dragon which is a machine got metalmorph retrain, the possibility quite low

Here’s my opinion. Ash should work against cards that set from the deck. Labrynth looking really smug with the little counter play against them. Strat is set 5 and win. Ash does so little. Give Ash an errata! Buff Ash!!

Does he let you use the trap the turn you set it? If so, yes. Because it works with Labrynth stuff that lets you do the same thing.

I hate Normal Summon without tributing effects. They don't even help with playing around Nibiru. Also still hope they turn Heavy Metal King into the next Darkness Metal Dragon.

I disagree solely based on it being a trap card. Its always this way for anime decks. New cards that arent all that good, are slow, have restrictions, or force u to play bad cards.
It works well with Labyrinth and dragon links, though.
