- Hey folks! This video is a part of my Punchi Man vlogs. In case you are wondering why does my logo say "Pun-Chi Man", then that's what I'm calling my vlogs moving forward. Pun-Chi stands for Punjabi Chinese (In case you don't know it already, I'm Punjabi Chinese :) ). This is my Toshiba M550MP QLED VS Hisense U6K QLED TV comparison video. Is the U6K the BEST QLED TV below 40000 in 2023 in the budget range? What should you buy? Choose wisely.

I'm glad i found this channel while browsing for tv reviews. I'm looking for an 43" tv. Was looking at Toshiba c350 np or Hisense u6k. My budget is aroung 25 i prefer tv. One of my important requirement is to cast (wirelessley)my Macbook on the TV as i want to use it as a secondary monitor too sometimes for my work. With a TV you and a projector you can enjoy with your whole family but with a VR headset its is only meant for one person at a time. Besides, using it for long hours can cause Eye fatigue in my opinion. The easiest to operate is a QLED TV and will be my first preference.
Nyc bro but I am asking one question to you i have u6k 43 inch when i attached my ps5 in to tv hdmi port i think it is not supported hdmi 2.1 because it's not shown anywhere.?
One of the ports is HDMI 2.1 which is also the eARC port. And in anyways it does not matter brother, cause the TV is not a 4K 120 hz, its 4k@60hz and 1080p@120hz.

@@krabualfonsoo Make sure your HDMI is set to Enhanced Mode and is not in Standard mode else the VRR will not work brother.

Last year's models i.e. 2022 were IPS panels brother but the 2023 models are VA panels.

Could you help me with my purchase, i am planning to buy a 4k ips 55 inch tv within 40k budget for PS5 gaming and ott content watching.
IPS display because its a well lit room. And having 2nd thoughts on E7K pro due to it being VA panel.
Most 2023 models in that budget all come with a VA panel brother. If you are OK with 60hz then the Toshiba M550LP from 2022 had a 55 inch IPS panel. Or the Tornado 2.0 had an IPS panel in 55 inches. I have a TCL C725 in my family and despite of a Va panel the viewing angles are not as bad so you can also check out the TCL T6G in a showroom before making a purchase brother.

Babit, I have watched your videos. They are full of details and in-depth reviews; this is how every review video should be.
I am looking for a 55-inch TV and sorted Toshiba m550MP, Hisense U6K, and E7KPro. I also watched some other reviews.
Some say Toshiba TVs aren't that good for dark scenes and have upscaling issues. I will watch mostly OTT content, CZcams, and Jio TV, and I won't be doing any gaming on these TVs; I have a separate setup for that. Could you please recommend one for the best video quality and viewing experience? Will go with Hisense manufacturing only.
Thanks so much for your kind words brother. You can go with the Toshiba M550MP or even the 650MP. They do not have upscaling issues but some units of M650MP have reported some HDR related issues. But it’s not the case with all units and that can happen with any brand and any model. So you can choose between the two Toshiba TVs brother. My pick for your requirement would be the M650MP.
@@BabitSingh Thank you for your advice, I got the Toshiba M550MP it got delivered and installed on same day. It seems to have a good picture quality, and the bright and day scenes look good; however, dark scenes are a nightmare on this TV; it produces low brightness during dark scenes and hides key details. When I increase the brightness beyond 55-60, a hazy or foggy layer appears, which makes it even worse.
The sound is undoubtedly fantastic. Google TV is laggy out of the box. OLED, FALD, and Dolby Vision all seem like gimmicks; my Acer 4K monitor and 4K LED TV by LG look way better than this Toshiba TV.
Should I return or keep it? Is it a common problem with budget TVs? I bought it from Flipkart because of Hisense manufacturing.
I just wanted to save a few thousand. Otherwise, I could have gone with the Sony Bravia x74l.
What do you suggest?

@@BabitSingh Babit, I got the Toshiba M550MP since I wanted Google TV with Hisense Manufacturing. The TV is good with picture quality. It does a great job with bright and daytime scenes. However, dark scenes on this TV are a nightmare. While watching Netflix content with mostly dark scenes, you just want to skip the scene. Once I increase brightness beyond 50-55, it shows a hazy or foggy layer on the screen.
The QLED and FALD don't make that much sense; my old Sony LED has better picture quality. I just wanted to save few thousand otherwise I could have gone with Sony 55X74L.
There's little blooming, but that isn't a big deal. Also, blacks aren't that great. 4K HDR with bright scenes looks outstanding.
Sound quality is undoubtedly fantastic; you don't need any external speakers until you get true Dolby sound.
Should I contact Toshiba regarding this, or is it a common problem with budget QLEDs?

It depends on whether you want to prioritise viewing angles, if yes, then IPS is the way to go or else the contrast and blacks are always better on a VA panel.

You can get the TCL T6G brother. It has a mix of both good display and sound but if you want only good display then you can also go with the U6K. The links of both are in the description box.

U6K only comes in VA Panel brother.

Toshiba m550mp offers better value but make sure you get the one which is manufactured by Hisense India and not Dixon.

I would go with the E7K pro cause I’m fond of gaming but if you are into content only then you can go with the U6K followed by the T6G which will give you a mix of both content and gaming.

VRR and ALM is there in 43 inches as well. Plz make sure that you HDMI is kept in Enhanced mode and not Standard Mode as VRR will not work in Standard Mode.

@@ctamang 120hz definitely makes the games look smoother but you even need the hardware for it brother. On the PS5 and Series X most games generally run at 1080p or 1440p@120hz and they mostly have games which run 4k@60fps and for that this TV is good enough brother.

Tornado 2.0 and Thosiba MP550
Toshiba M550MP is a superior TV compared to the Tornado 2.0 but also check out the TCL T6G which is in almost the same budget.

@@tulasiram89 The TCL T6G is a better TV over all brother. There are some quality concerns with the M550MP model specially when it comes to the HDR performance. So, if I had to choose one for myself, I would take the TCL T6G as well. But the TCL T6G is a VA panel. The other choice is also to look at the Hisense E7K Pro if you are specifically looking at an IPS panel since the 65 inch is an IPS panel brother.

U6K on amazon shows manufactured by DIXON..... is it safe to buy ? Also U6K has Mini LED worldwide however India and some other countries getting VA panel...Could you please help on this.
TV models can vary based on geography brother. U6K is a model that you can buy even if its manufactured by Dixon. The issue was only with Toshiba M550MP manufactured by Dixon in some units, not all units.

@@Ashwanisoni333 my pleasure brother. I generally use my Harman Kardon Onyx speakers the most for my TV and it’s enough for my personal use. It’s not got Dolby Atmos but the sound fidelity is mighty good still. You can actually look at the Sony HT-20R: amzn.to/3vSbLS8
It’s not got Atmos but it’s got Dolby Digital and is an actually 5.1 system.

@@BabitSingh actually almost three and half months back i had purchased hisense tornado 2.0 50" but unfortunately its display got broken accidentally now i am in confusion either i'shd repair it from company or buy a new one. another concern is its repairing cost is very high and whether its quality remain same as new or not after repairing ..help me out

Toshiba has FALD which is missing in the T6G but I think overall the TCL T6G is built better and is the better option brother.

The issue was mainly with some units of Toshiba M550MP, so you should be good with the U6K brother.

Since they are both same in configuration I went with more internal storage and the 2.1 sound since both were showing me manufactured by Dixon and also the built quality is lil better in M550MP. Hope I made the right decision.

It's true Dixon Technologies make very bad quality TV,

Yes, I am aware of that now brother. And I may talk about it in a future video of mine. But the Toshiba model were the ones which were problematic.
