Great video gentlemen! I do agree that there needs to be a third party to provide oversight for NIL, revenue sharing and to possibly prevent tampering in the transfer portal. The MWC is in a great position right now. I am hopeful that by the end of February the merger situation will be resolved and everyone involved can move forward.
Thx.
Her comments on NIL and the TP were very interesting and informative.
The best part of her comments, in our opinion.
Good show! Sticking to my guns, and we will respectively disagree as the PAC will raid the top end of the MWC, or they will agree on an athletic department floor jointly for a gentlemen’s easy out. When I hear BSU or Gloria comments, indeed, like you, I hear consistency in language. And the theme there is that schools will do what is right for themselves first and foremost. And a separation of the top half of the MWC from the also rans will be the most lucrative for the departing. Time will tell. Keep up the good work.
Hope you're right, but I don't see a split up MW.
Thx for the comment thoughts.
We should know the future of the PAC in 6-9 months.
For now, a 2025 scheduling agreement is highly likely.
Just what I wanted to hear. Thanks
Glad it helped!
U guys were predicting merger. Now it’s an extended alliance for football only. I told you PAC 2 won’t join Mtn west.
We are still predicting merger.
They will likely extended the sch agreement for 2025. We have continually said that. That isn’t the end game, it is a bridge. We believe the end game is a merger.
@@TheBigMountainPodcast the additional year tells you that OSU / WSU look at merger as a last resort for survival. If I’m President of those schools I’m going Independent in two years. Merger is death. Irrelevancy. Might as well move to FCS. No one from Mtn West will ever win a NC.
We understand your position.
We respectfully have a different opinion.
@@TheBigMountainPodcast I agree with you. The PAC are just waiting to see if the ACC cards fall towards their benefit in the next year or so.
@@TheBigMountainPodcast I just hoping that both of you guys are not panicking about not having a merger lol
I really appreciate Steve's comment on player mobility at the 17:00 mark. That's what I was thinking concerning the MAC and other G5 conferences. People don't realize that although players transfer out of the G5, consider the players that transfer to G5 schools and get playing time there. It's more important than what many think.
Yes, Mobility works both ways.
Downward is just as important, but doesn’t get the press.
I would like to see the four G5 champions who don't get selected into the playoffs have games against each other. Make it a special event so that the champions who don't make the playoffs have a special bowl to go to. Maybe a doubleheader in Vegas or at Jerry's World in Arlington. ALL conference champions should have their accomplishments noticed in some way.
Hate to break the news to you guys. WSU and OSU are not taking or merging with any mountain west teams. After 2026 season football agreement is done both pac teams will be in A power conference. Trust me I know what going on 😝😉😉
When it comes to College football playoffs every top team from every conference needs to be in the running. Make the college season shorter the playoffs longer if you have to in order to fit more playoff games in.
What UCF suffered through by not getting invites when they had great seasons is an example of manipulation of college football and that sucks.
Pac12 not two! It’s a branded name and how many teams the conference has does not change the name.
Excellent show guys. You are making me a MWC fan. When you do your best player episode, Could you do the PAC2 as well? My suggestion for the Beavs would be Joshua Gray. He is one of the best returning O-lineman in the country.
We will include the PAC 2!
@@TheBigMountainPodcast great, thanks
I hope the Beavs have a great season, except for the last game of the season.
@@billl1127 Understood & thanks. Hope for the same for BSU except when BSU plays OSU & WSU. I gotta root for my brother in arms.
Love listening to these 2 CHODES stumble their way thru these updates. 😂 jk you guys are great.
I regret The Hair (Thompson) sticking around so long. He may have had vision 20 years ago but he was dead weight and not a leader for the last 10 years. A Navarro type would have done so much more with this conference.
Equity of access would be 9 conference champs and 3 at large. Vs an Invitational Tournament which is anti-American at its core.
Goulds recent comments hint to a pac 2 scheduling alliance for ‘25 with a conference not named the mw.
Goulds comments at PAC media day were that she hopes over the next few weeks her and Nevarez “will make some progress” on 2025.
That’s a pretty current comment.
